Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Tuesday 2/5
Good morning folks! You've survived Monday, so it's all a piece of cake from here.
Today's weight 134.6
I looked at my weight chart and I've been bouncing up and down in a 4 lb. range for 7 weeks now. Hopefully that's a good sign of stabilized weight - I think it's the longest I've held my own since surgery.
Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22
175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
Good morning...
A few snow flakes here in Jersey City. 30 degrees today. I was hoping it would be warmer than home, I guess it is, but not by much.
172.6 - up a bit - the usual "travel bloat" i think. I seem to go up a pound for every 2-3 hours spent on an airplane.
Off to the fitness center to work it off!
Have a great day, everyone!

180.3 this morning. I am bouncing within a range, but it's a bit higher, so it's time to take a look at making some changes - one in particular. I have been stubbornly resisting giving up nuts, or at least cutting way back on them. When they are only available in small amounts, I am okay and don't obsess about wanting more - at the time. But, if there is a larger amount, I will continue eating them. While I say I haven't been obsessing, I still don't want to give them up. When I go to the store to pick up food supplies for work or home, I am drawn to the nuts, and usually give in. I am so stubborn and food is still such an issue - surprise, surprise!!! I had about an oz. left this morning, and ate them with breakfast, which is a manageable amount. I am making the commitment here though, that I will not buy any more nuts today!!!!!!
It has to do with the production of serotonin, the so called pleasure hormone. If we don't get enough sleep, we don't make enough serotonin. I believe that we tend to eat lots of carby foods to try promote serotonin in our system, as we don't naturally have enough of it. Hopefully, this makes sense. Scientific I'm not! :)

101 lbs today. Happy here.

I'm holding steady at 129. Which should be good news except my BodyMedia FIT and MyFitnessPal claim I'm eating at about a 250 calorie a day deficit so I should be losing, not holding steady. I'm not going to sweat it though as I don't really believe in dieting and I don't want to be one of those people who obsesses about my weight. I know if I continue to watch what I eat and log and avoid temptation, eventually this extra weight will come off and I'd rather it come off slow so I don't invoke the famine response anyway.
