Question about NSAIDS and the staple line?

My surgeon said that they're fine for occasional use, just to take them with food.  He also said that if you're really worried about ulcers (or prone to developing them) but need the ibuprofen, that you can take them in liquid form (such a children's motrin) and then it is a non-issue.

Because the ulcers form when the pill sticks to the stomach wall.  Also the reason that taking it with food helps, pushes things along.
