NSV almost 2 yrs out: "I didn't realize you were so small!" (x-post from Main)
Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while . . . Started my 2013 off the right way though! At a New Years Day open house, lots of old friends, one of them said to me: I never realized you were so small!". She's only known me obese and then after surgery. Now after 2 yrs and maintaining 105 lbs lost (okay, gained 2 pounds over x-mas!) and having tummry tuck and boobs fixed so they watch me brush my teeth and not tie my shoes (!!!!), i finally feel like i'm close to the small person i was all my life!
YAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! Happy New Year everyone! ((((((((hugs)))))))))
So jealous of the tummytuck and boobjob! I was looking into getting them last year, then decided that I didn't want to spend the money, but now I'm back to thinking that I really want them done! Did you get both done at the same time?

plastics: yup, did them both at the same time. boobs were covered by insurance b/c i had some residual effects of a car accident. tummy wasn't bad enough, so self-paid $5000 for that part.
recovery SUCKED. waaaaay more complicated than VSG -- open instead of laparoscopic, tummy tuck incision literally from hip bone to hip bone and DRAINS -- yuck!!!!! the recovery definitely took longer. it was less freaky in the respect that i wasn't doing some life-changing thing like VSG, so it was less scary that way.
my basic rule now is: no more elective surgery, ever!!!!!!!! they're going to have to be removing an organ or something to get back in there!
i am defiinitely glad i had it done. my -105 lbs boobs were TOTALLY disgusting and i hated my squishy tummy. on the (extremely) negative side, i lost significant hearing in one ear post-surgery and nobody seems to know why. quite a shock. i've always hat bat-like hearing and still do in my "good" ear, so i'm doing okay. my surgeon is the head of the plastic surgery dept at a large hospital here and she had never had this happen to one of her (many) patients, so it's not something i would factor into my decision!
any other questions, let me know!
