Hi

I have complete confidence that you will get back into your comfort zone.  What do you think is different for you now in year three - capacity? Compliance? Metabolism? Aging? A combination?  Send some soup my way!

Yes, to all of the above!  I do think that my capacity is bigger now, my ghrelin is at about 50% or so at this point, since research shows that some ghrelin comes back through other organs picking up the slack and that of course means increased hunger.  But the biggest issue is just that I have learned to eat around my sleeve and it is so darn easy to fall right back into old patterns even when you know better.  My metabolism is pretty good and yes, I am ageing and of course over time we need less calories, but I don't think that's the issue, I think it's just lack of consistency in compliance.  The truth is that it does get harder around the third year and it seems to stay harder until at least the fifth year or maybe forever.  I have friends that are further out, and they all admit that it gets harder the further out you get.  Now on the bright side, they are all at goal or close to goal so it is doable, just not easy.  I am not sure it is all that easy for other people either.  All my skinny girlfriends face what I face and fight to this every day.  They all exercise, and watch their food intake, so I guess I am just normal. :)

166.6 today - YIKES!  I have been off for 12 days now and just started back at work today.  One of the biggest problems for me has been getting enough water.  I haven't been anywhere near what I normally drink in a day.  So, today I am back to work and back to the water as well as all other things normal.  Hopefully, it won't take long to get back down about 2.5 lbs.

Elina, what is your plan?  If its manageable then maybe I can follow it too?

Mom, worrying and stress makes it harder to lose weight, so perhaps in your case it is making it harder for you to gain weight.

Back to normal.....................NORMAL is just a setting on my washer!

Yeah I've noticed that being off my routine throws me off my drinking routine too.

My plan is always the same when the scale hits my red line.  I eat my regular breakfast, of two eggs and laughing cow cheese then I eat Alan's soup (one version or another) and his chili until and that is mostly all.  The snacks can be veggies or more soup.  I journal everything and I drink like a fish.  It takes me a few days and I am back to goal.  It is easy, doable and I don't get hungry.  I seem to have to do this 2-3 times a year, and then all is well again for a while.
