Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Wednesday 12/26 (the aftermath)
Good morning. Snow and sleet and ice and ick here. Love driving in the dark in that stuff.
So I decided this holiday to deliberately suspend good behavior from Friday through Tuesday while I was out of town in hopes of gaining a little. I had cheesecake. I had a cookie or piece of fudge when I wanted one. I had sweet potato casserole at Christmas dinner. Not horrible amounts of food, but many items that would normally be a rare treat for me. For five, solid days.
Results? Last Friday's weight: 136. Today's weight: 136.2
Other than my bike (or technically the gift card for my bike) my Christmas consisted primarily of the wildest collection of knee socks you have ever seen. Back-story - I've mentioned often that I have disproportionately large calves. I've never been able to wear knee socks, even in my late preteens and teens. I was down into normal BMI range before I could get most knee socks to come up to my knees. So now, at the ripe old age of 50 I've become a knee sock fanatic. I got pink and yellow striped knee socks (to match my bright pink sweater), purple and teal tiger striped knee socks (to match my purple sweater), purple fuzzy knee socks, green and black striped knee socks...huge fun, and it gave me some presents to unwrap since my bike was most of my gift from everyone.
So how was your Christmas, Solstice or movie & Chinese food day?
Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22
175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
Congrats on the KSV (Knee Sock Victory) !
We're in Tucson, to get warm, over the holidays. No family, just our dogs. Yesterday to celebrate my 6-month surgiversary I went out and did a 40 mile bike ride. Coldest day here, of course, so I froze my butt, but it was great. The first 20 miles were pretty much all uphill, coming home was a breeze until I had a flat at 25mph. Fixed that and made it home. A very nice Christmas.
Weighed in at 170.6 today. Lowest ever. (well since about 6th grade anyway)
Heaviest: 313/VSG Pre: 295/Surgery: 260/Maintenance target:190 - Recent: 195 (08/15/19)

177.8 this morning. Up just a little, but I ate salty things and a few more carbs than usual yesterday, so I'm not surprised.
Glad you're home safely Mom! The knee socks sound like lots of fun!
Our Christmas was very nice. I got my mini Keurig for my office and my favorite - white chocolate mint K-cups. The kids seemed to be happy with their presents. The big one cried when she opened her Celtic's tickets. The past two days have been a wonderful distraction, but today is back to reality. We're leaving in the next hour or so for my father's wake this afternoon and funeral in the morning. Tomorrow is supposed to be a snowstorm up here, so we may not get home until Friday. Thank goodness for good friends and neighbors - they are taking care of our 7 year old and the dog. I probably won't be able to post, and can't weigh for the next 2-3 days, but I'll be back after. Have a great few days all!
175.4 - A new high for me, but I know it won't stick - I have been on my feet solid for the past few days. I saw the same thing right after Thanksgiving.
I have also been expanding my food choices and letting myself have small amounts of Holiday Deserts. Went to a Christmas Party at a neighbors and had a half of slice of cheesecake. Tomorrow is my 42nd Birthday, and I will have a piece of Birthday Cake this year. I didn't last year.
I got a bunch of new clothes for Christmas and My birthday (My parents sent me a total of $700 to spend on clothes - and I did!). A ton of new ties. Thomas got me the electric coffee grinder and a spice grinder I had been wanting as well as the classic holiday cartoons from my childhood. It was a beautiful day yesterday with him. Nothing else really matters at the holidays but being with the people you love and who love you.
I'll post a pic of me in my Christmas Party outfit as soon as DH wakes up - its on his phone!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Good morning - not able to weigh this morning as we stayed in a hotel after the big family Christmas yesterday which was 3 hours from our home. Lovely day; I feel so fortunate to have the extended family that I love and adore. So when we get our butts moving, the now 2 hour drive home in the rain. Mom, I'm glad you made it home safely and it sounds like everyone had a lovely holiday. For me, this is my week to get back to physical therapy, try to get some exercise, and get this knee to recover a little more so I can get back to work before long. And 5 pounds to goal!
Not bad considering the fact that I ate all day.
I'm glad I watch my portion sizes because my sleeve allows me to eat a good amount.

Glad to hear you got home safely Mom. I hope that everyone else who is travelling makes it back home safely as well.
Well, I had a little too much Danish rice pudding (folded into whipped cream). It is called Ris a la mande. I only make it once a year, but this year, we celebrated Christmas early with my oldest son before he left for Arizona, and then I thought we should have some for Christmas eve. That was not a good idea. My weight is up to 166 so I am on post-op diet (full liquids****il it goes down again.
Maybe I should send you the recipe for my Danish Christmas dessert Mom. It might help you gain some weight so you can get up to 140.
Have a great day everyone!
Officially out of my goal range!
Started off well yesterday, but in the evening I sort of lost it. Sigh......
Virtually no water yesterday, salty food, and then at 5:00 or so the grazing hit. I nibbled so much of this and that that I couldn't log it when I got home. Sheesh! I was up 4 pounds on the scale this morning. Feel like a bloated mess. Must push the water......
Anyway, serves me right......
It sounds as if everyone had a lovely Christmas whether with family or not. Ours was, too. We got together with our 2 daughters, 1 spouse, our son, my 84 year old parents, and all 9 grandchildren, on Monday afternoon. It was wonderful as usual. Knowing our middle daughter was rejoicing in Heaven is special, too. Her two boys are doing great. We had to cut back this year and weren't able to get for our children but we got senior pictures of our eldest granddaughter. She is drop dead gorgeous. They are a joy. Yesterday we just hung out.
My eating has been ummm... casual, at best. I am cleaning up today (read the pecan pie is all gone). Weight this morning was 136.2. Up just a tiny bit and won't last through the clean up. I
can eat more types of things now, so that helps. I figure by the end of Jan. when my hubbies false teeth come in we both should be able to eat some Sam's club rib-eye steak. That is the only type of steak I could eat with my band so it will be the first I try with my new sleeve. I can hardly wait.
