Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Monday 12/24
Good morning. Still 800 miles from my scale
For those who celebrate Christmas, hope your Christmas Eve is lovely. For those of other traditions, happy Monday.
How are you folks doing?
Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22
175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
I hope you are enjoying your time away from your scale. This Christmas season has been like no other in my lifetime. Usually, I would have gained weight from all the "gifts" that people given me, but with the sleeve I found that it is much easier to not be tempted to eat stuff I know is bad for me. It also helps that my wife has had WLS and she has not baked any of her usual holiday goodies this year. I think some of our friends are now going through withdraws about now, but they will get over it eventually. Anyways, have a great Christmas and a blessed new year everyone.

Ok. I slipped. Have been off bread/gluten for nearly 14 months, not that a celiac but that it makes me feel better to not eat bread etc. So yesterday having cooked the first of the two turkey dinners had a post dinner turkey sandwich. Goodness. It was lovely. But paid the price and that hopefully has stopped the curiosity in its tracks.
I remember on the main board someone asking about ' could they eat just one piece of fudge ?" on, I think, it was their second week post surgery. The responder rightly said: " not a good idea. Besides, you KNOW what fudge tastes like. You don't have to eat it to remember."
Such great words to live by and when they come to mind, as am beginning to put something not good for me my mouth, have spat it out. Not always mind you.
Am still up two pounds from goal and I don't like it. Not good walking conditions right now as am afraid of falling., so am going to do my stairs and see if that makes me feel better.
Have a great day everyone.
We are going to have a pretty uneventful Christmas Eve. Just my husband, my youngest son, and myself. My oldest is away in Arizona. I would love to be there myself as we have had a lot of snow and very cold temperatures up here in Canada. I don't know what the temperature has been in Fahrenheit the last few days/nights, but it has gone down to -25 degrees celcius. It is so cold that I sure wish I had planned our usual trip to a warm Carribean place, but we decided to wait until February or March as it is just too expensive at Christmas.
Anyway, enough about all of that. I am at 165.0 today.
Have a great day everyone.
176.2 this morning - the lowest I've been. My eating has been light and sporadic the past few days, so this may only be a blip on the radar, but it did look good on the scale! LOL I'm still getting in enough protein and fluids, but I forget to eat at times, with all that's been going on, and usually, when I finally do, it's a couple of low fat cheese sticks, yogurt and berries, or a couple of eggs. Tonight and tomorrow we'll have company and I will eat more regular meals. Have a wonderful holiday all!
173.1 - up a pound. Just sittin in a car for 3 days doesn't do much. Heading out to burn some calories this afternoon with a long bike ride. Finally!

105.2. Merry Christmas everyone! I was planning to go to the movies and eat Chinese food as per my usual Christmas routine, but a friend called and invited us to go see a Jewish comic performing at the JCC while we eat Chinese food. This could be a new favorite thing to do on Christmas, and I can save the movie for tomorrow.
I hope all of you are having a beautiful, peaceful time filled with joy, family and friends. Hugs to you all.
