VSG Maintenance Group
Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Wednesday 12/19
Good morning all.
Today's weight: 135.2
Last evening my husband looked at me and said "I think your face is starting to fill back out a little, it looks really good." He's been the most supportive person on the planet, and knows I've been concerned about how gaunt I look in the face so I was thrilled that he noticed a change. I was just reading a post on the VSG main board from a pre-op with an unsupportive spouse - I've seen bunches of those. So I was reflecting on how lucky those of us are who have a supportive spouse, partner or other close family member(s).
NOTE: I'll be on the road Saturday morning. First one in please post the thread unless someone wants to volunteer in advance. I'll be able to post the rest of the holiday weekend.
Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22
175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
162.2 - new low and 0.2 # away from that century mark!!
My hubby is a star as well and puts up so well with my mood swings concerning my appearance/weight. This is the first year of the 4 we have been together that I have not had to have surgery. For 3 consecutive Februarys I had a surgery (2009 - gall bladder, 2010 plantar fasciotomy, 2011 VSG) and then I had breast cancer and lumpectomy/radiation in the fall of 2011. He has been a rock!
174.6 - back on my way to my new normal!
I could have never done my journey the way I did without my husband. Hes been my rock. We just lost his Maternal Grandmother last night. Now is my turn to be his rock.

178.4 today. Still feeling ill, though fever broke. Off to dr.'s in a few minutes.
Isn't it wonderful to have a supportive spouse? This journey we're on is made that much easier when we have the support from those we love. My DH was scared of the risks of surgery, but has been there for me every inch of the way. He is now thrilled that with the results, especially that my health has vastly improved.
I am so sorry you hear about your husband's grandmother Rob.
I know without a doubt that everything in my life, but especially VSG would have been so much more difficult without my loving husband by my side. Those of us who have a real friend in our corner are truly blessed.
105.6 today. It is funny, how the extra little .6 messes with my head. I want to be under 105 lbs. but my trainer would prefer if I gained five pounds. I lifted extra heavy yesterday and attribute the slight gain to water weight from the tearing of the muscle. I increased all of my weights and this happens every time I do this.
Hi all,
I am very sorry to hear of you and your husband's loss Rob. Please pass my condolences along to him.
Sandy! Awesome that you are so close to 100 lbs. lost, and soooooo close to goal. Your goal is the same as mine, but I have been stuck between 163.6 and 165.6 for a couple of months now at least. I want to see that 160, but I have been eating a little more and have to reduce my calories and start exercising if I want to lose any more.
I'm at 164.6 today.
