134.5 today..
Doing great with the holidays. Yesterday we got a nice delivery of something NOT sweet at our office- a platter of really nice lunch meats & cheeses. So that was my meal. Sodium vs sugar, yeah- I'll deal with the salty after effects. Working in a drs office during the holidays entails a gauntlet of foodie stuff from other practices being delivered.. I have had my share of the special stuff, including the most out of the world creme brulee cheesecake.. and survived, but didn't feel the best indulging quite that much, most things I seem to be able to moderate, that cheesecake was not one of them.. and we got two (one is in the freezer at work.) Work parties are behind me, all on one weekend.. so thankful that's over.
Next challenge is the mini trip with my husband next week, but I get to pack and choose my foods.. so other than the wine/adult beverages and sugar free but suuuper-rich eggnog I made, I shouldn't have too much real gain once the inevitable bloat drops away. I am learning that me + salt & alcohol = really bad water retention, fast. My only real goal this season was come out on the other side of the New Year without actually gaining. As it's looking, I may lose a couple over this party-season.
Workout, then online shopping for Xmas, then a little pre-vacation primping today on my day off.. work tomorrow, then off till the 26th. I have to get Xmas squared away, but I have ideas..

So far so good on the holidays. This weekend is my big baking weekend for gifts. This years theme is a culinary trip around Europe and America. White Chocolate Dipped Cranberry Orange Biscotti, French Sables, Gingerbread Sandwich Cookies, Old English Style Butterscotch, and Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, homemade candy canes.
I have to get all of that baked and packaged this weekend and in the mail.
Weel see if I am not 180 by the end of the weekend how well my recovery is going, LOL. I am usually not tempted by the sweets though.

I used to bake and candy-make like a mad woman every year, but last year and this I've had no interest and my family seems OK with it. Just one of those things that have changed in my life. Of course, I'm not as much of a foodie as you and Thomas are so it's a different thing for me.
Hope everything turns out well.
My last present is set to arrive on Friday so Saturday will be wrap-a-palooza for me.

I think thats why I make sweets - they just don't tempt me. Breads are much more tempting for me and savory items. Thats why about the only bread I make regualrly is my white bread for my sandwiches.

Everything sounds wonderful! I'm not sure what I'll be making beyond the traditional anise biscotti I make for my dad, MIL and DH's aunt. They don't care about the other stuff - just the biscotti. I do usually make things for the teachers and after school program staff, but this year, I plan on toning it down a bit, as I don't have the time or enery for making lots of things. I keep trying to simplify my life where I can - helps to keep me from the nutsiness I always experienced at this time of year. I may even opt for D'nD gift cards, which will probably end up costing less than the ingredients, wrapping, etc. for the baked stuff.
135.5 today.
I used to have such a sweet tooth. but now...I was in Costco and saw a platter of baklava which before WLS I would have bought and scarfed down within a couple of days. I looked at it and thought to myself, "I don't need all those empty calories" and put it back. It's a Christmas miracle!
