My face turned white with fear!

I have had a bit of a re-gain, 5 pounds. But I am putting my life together again after being unemployed since the end of 2008 and my new schedule made it difficult to exercise the way I was... everyday to 3-4 times a week. So I gave myself a lecture and got back on track. After a week of compliant days I had the courage to step on the scale. OMG it was almost 30 pounds heavier than my weight about 3 weeks ago. My first thought was that maybe because my knees were swelling again due to the change in exercise, something serious was wrong. There was no way I could have gained 30 pounds on 3 weeks! I had such fear well up in me and a huge feeling of disappointment!

I got off the scale and thought I should move it out from the wall a bit more. I got back on and to my extreme relief my weight was actually a pound less than my re-gain weight. Got on and off a few times just to make sure. WHEW! close call and what a wake-up!

Good Lord I would have had a heart attack...Thats as bad as when I had a $5,000 mistake balancing my checkbook!

But in reality Im pretty sure you would have felt a 30 lbs gain in 3 weeks...no way your clothes would have fit...just like I knew I didnt overspend by 5k in 3 weeks...but nothing like a good shot of adrenaline to get the ol' heart a pumping!

Congrats on getting the regain off!

Oh gosh, just reading that I could feel my heart jolt imagining how that would feel.  Even when you KNOW it's not possible, it's going to start up that panic feeling.   Sometimes the scale really does lie!!

Good for you for getting yourself back on track!!

Yikes!  How scary is that!  Thank goodness it was high *enough* that you doubted it and moved the scale.

I hate how much power I can still give the damn thing.
