Quest Cravings: BAd name for a great product

I don't know if any of you have seen these yet - They are the size of large Reeses Peanut Butter Cups with typical Quest Nutrition Numbers (240 Calories, 10g Carbs, 17g Fat, 20g of Protein).  I LOVE them.  I ordered some more quest bars last week to get some calories back in and came across these.  They are pretty awesome - but could definitely become a slider.

Thanks for the review.  I've really wanted to try them, but I already have an excessive supply of protein bars, and I don't eat them often when it's not hiking season, so I've been trying to resist ordering.  PB Cups have always been a favorite,  and i think Quest's products are great.

I got in on the "prototype" of these and the crunch bars. I ordered 5 of each when they had 1st made them- the new PB cups are much improved both in flavor, texture and in looks! They sent out a re-ship free on the PB cups to everyone that had ordered the 1st round.. I am really looking forward to the re-release of the crunch bars to see what they did with those!

Just ordered a bunch of regular bars when they had the 10% off & free ship, incl a full box of the cups.. I have way too many protein bars (boxes of Oh  Yeah Mint & PB cup wafers in the freezer downstairs..) but ordered more anyway.. plus more Quest bars on a $10 off/free ship from Drugstore.com, ugh. The regular Quest bars- I eat a couple a week, the candy versions- I use as a treat as the cals are higher, and no real fiber benefit- but they fit a need when I want something desserty at night! One cup is very satisfying too- I love that. Planning on bringing a stash of them on our trip later this month to indulge in with little damage. They are the best tasting fake candy/protein bar so far- besides the Atkins Endulge nut chew which I got in some sample packs- those are really, really tasty- but have malitol, which is just about as bad as sugar, so those don't get replaced when they are gone.

I'm looking forward to ordering and trying the new regular Quest flavor- Banana Nut Muffin.. but I have to use up the boxes I have first.. or at least SOME of them!

This one to me screams "Stay Away!!" I can't keep chocolate candy in the house. I could always moderate regular Quest bars, but I do believe these would be dangerous!

Bet they're good, though.

I'm with you on this one.  I have yet to try a Quest bar or product and that is on purpose.  I have a very strong suspicion that it would turn into a new addiction for me and I have enough addictions for now.  :)   I do sometimes combine a quarter cup of roasted peanuts with 20 or so dark chocolate chips and eat that as a snack.

I think the reason I never had trouble with Quest bars is that they're not super sweet - some other bars are like candy. But candy-like peanut butter cups...

I'm with you on this one too.  I used the Quest bars as meals when I went on vacation last spring, as breakfasts and lunches on the tour were definitely not on my plan.  They worked well for me then, and saved me from making poor choices.   I ordered a second batch a couple months later.  I did okay with them, but knew if I wasn't careful, they could become dangerous for me, so I haven't gotten any more.  Knowing that, I am certain the PB cups would definitely become an issue.  Kudos to those who can handle them, I'm just not one of those folks, at least not today.

I know these work for some......cannot argue with you all's that have lost the weight and are at goal and have worked these things into your plan.....Super Cool... Keep on doin !!!!

Quest Bars..... Replacement Reeses...... not for me......

I'd rather eat the real thing (and I have and do on occasion).........

The Quest bars don't come with any or low "guilt" and can become a regular thing for me.......

The Reeses comes with full on guilt !!!!!

If I'm gonna eat a Reeses...... real or faux..... I want the guilt !!!!!

I know... messed up thinking !!!

Sigh, you caught me lurking, but I just wanted to say that I'm totally with you. I know I'm in the losing phase and that's a no-no for you, but if I'm going to have something, it's going to be the real thing. Mainly to get it out of my system. If I eat the fake one, then I just want another fake one or something else that's fake to try to trick myself. If I just eat the damned Reeses, then it's over and done with. But I log it and own it :) I only do it occasionally, but yeah, it has to be the real thing or I just spiral.

I do have a protein bar that I use as a "crap, I forgot to eat and now have to drive" meal, but it's not a replacement for anything really for me, so it seems to not send me into no-man's-land.

I'm avoiding the Quest things too... they'd give me permission to eat a lot of them. LOL... plus I suspect they are soy based (allergy)

Because they are both high in protein and fiber I do feel satisfied after eating one. They are so chewy, I made a habit of taking a bite and setting it down till I completely chewed the first bite. For me doesn't seem to cause overeating... in fact sometimes I eat only half at a time. It's a good save when I haven't planned well or ran out of time. I used to eat PureProtein Peanut Butter bars but unless they are frozen, I eat them too quickly besides I want to steer away from the artificial sweeteners.
