It still works!!

Always good to know that when I work, so does my sleeve!  I've been pretty relaxed with my eating lately, and a lot of bad carbs (ie Girl Scout cookies) have been making their way into my mouth.  This was getting dangerous because I was still maintaining easily.  However, I knew that it was a slippery slope and that eventually it would catch up to me.  I decided to do a pre-holiday "detox" and attempt to get to my 119 "dream goal" before trying for another baby in the next few months.  I'm on day 4 and already down 2.5 lbs.  Pretty good considering how small I am at this point.  I'm just hoping that if I see 119 it isn't completely at the expense of my boobs as the last 10 were!!

Glad to hear you caught the slippery slope before damage was done!  It is so easy to be lulled into a false sense of security and then have it all blow up in our faces.  That is my biggest fear - that I'll get into something that I have a rough time getting out of.  That fear has kept me choosing to not eat certain foods.  I don't know if, in the future, I'll be ready to branch out with trying different foods, but I know now is not the time.  I'm just taking it one day at a time for now and so far, so good.

Nothing super scientific.  High protein, lowish carb, low cal.

My day looks like this...

Breakfast: Steel cut oatmeal (I refuse to give this up, regardless of the fact it is "carby")

Lunch: Protein shake

Snack: Diet coke

Dinner: 2-3 oz protein (ie baked chicken) and veggies

Snack: protein Shake

Now, here are the reasons this works for me... #1 Diet coke is my vice, when I feel "snacky" I can have one of these bad boys and take the edge off until my next meal.  So, although it is not a "healthy choice" it is much better than the things I'd normally want that time of day.  #2 I HATE protein shakes.  So, if I bother to choke one down, it keeps me "good" the rest of the day because I refuse to do that only to end up having a "bad" day anyway.

The trick is knowing what will work for you.  I've discovered my "tricks" to make it work for me, and I think everyone is very different.  I'm sure many could look at this menu and find plenty of things that are wrong with it, but it is just a short term plan to jump start better behavior, and drop a few quick pounds.  I'm just hoping to see that magic 119 before we start trying for a baby in the next few months.

Congratulations!!

I went on Nutrasystem for 2 weeks after gaining back 20lbs and my stomach shrunk!!
It started hurting so bad, after just 3 bites!!
So I know it does shrink back, when I stop those evil addicting CARBS!!

Just stopping the carbs.... that is the next goal... hardest thing I have ever tried to do!

Congrats again!
