VSG Maintenance Group
Hi!
My name is Sue. Elina suggested I come over here after I pm'd her with a question. I got my lap band removed and got my sleeve Aug.21, so I am just over 3 months out. Since I had regained 19 pounds I didn't have much to lose with my sleeve. I have however lost 25 pounds. Since I can't afford to lose more I am attempting maintenance with a tummy that hasn't even adapted to meat yet. Initially I had to add sugar to everything just to get a minimum of calories in. Recently when I cleaned up the grazing and banished the sugar I dropped another 3 pounds in 5 days. I am almost 63 and my current weight of 135 suits me but no more! Elina gave me some excellent suggestions to help and I am implementing them but it is very nice to know you all are here and are or have learned to maintain.
Welcome! I can see that it would be a little interesting to manage with a new sleeve when you haven't much to lose. Eventually your sleeve will mature and you'll adapt. In the meantime, we're here to help. Elina is a great resource for sure.

Welcome to our group. Many of us had the issue of losing a little too much weight. As your sleeve matures it will be possible to increase the amount you eat. My surgeon suggests more complex carbs to stop losing or regain a little. I stopped losing by eating blobs of peanut butter. Healthy fats like nuts and cheese and such are the best. put cream in your coffee and eat five or six small meals a day. I know you are a little worried but I would sure avoid the sugar - can become a nasty habit. let us know how you are doing. check my blog page for cinnamon almond recipe. i recently made it with pecans and its to die for.
Post often and let us know how you are doing. its all part of the journey.
I used to cook some chicken breasts and then grind them in the food processer and then eat 2 or 3 tablespoons of it in chicken broth. a good way to get protein in.

A friend of mine got a sleeve at goal weight due to a malfunctioning band. She also had issues with maintaining her weight but once everything healed, she was fine. I'm sure you'll stabilize soon too. Just take your vits so you're healthy and let time do it's thing!
