An observation on graphing my daily weight..

charting weight seems like a good idea. i did it through losing but stopped and while i have daily weight data, didn't make a chart.

charts show you visually where you are and will help you realize you are in balance.

what i do long haul is weight daily, food journal daily, play ipad games in the evening when i am tempted to snack in front of tv, and stick to some simple habits like i just don't eat bread, potatoes or rice or pasta any more. it works so far.    the longer you maintain the more normal it seems.  diane

I think your approach is great!  I will go back and log here and there to make sure I'm not overdoing it.

I so identify with your large fluctuations in weight. I see so many on here that move a tenth of a pound one way or another. For me it seems like it's always 2-3 pounds, not .2-.3 pounds. It is very frustrating for me. I am trying to learn that this is my normal. My clothes fit, but I often feel panicky when I see a significant gain over night. The last gain over Thanksgiving sent me back into some old habits for two days so I had to deal with some emotional crap, too. Damn! Sometimes this journey is a tough one!

I do like that you log your weight every day. It's a good thing. I weigh every day, but am now thinking of logging my weight on Livestrong.com every day, too. At least I'd have a visual of my daily fluctuations.

Honestly, to keep me on track with reality I use my jeans (they don't lie) and pictures. I still don't see myself the way the camera does, so that is very helpful to me.

Basically i make it a point to keep up my exercise routine and do not worry if my weight fluctuates a little bit. It will all even out in the long run.
