Maintenance Means Same Jeans.......

That's why I always encourage folks to ditch the clothes that are too big - especially the bottoms. I confess to wearing baggy hoodie sweatshirts because I've always like the look and never been able to get them big enough for baggy before (I was lucky if they even fit). Just the pullover hoodies - all my other tops fit.

All my bottom halves fit me correctly, no oversize allowed. I reckon since I always carried my weight down there they'll serve as a good indicator.

So yeah - sitting here even now wearing size small sweat pants and an XL hoodie. LOL.

Love this post, Frisco. Every time I'm feeling fat and getting a bit obsessive, I just remind myself I still fit into my jeans. That's enough to shut up the inner voice! While I boast about my size 30" waist Lucky Brand jeans, I must confess, in Levi 505s I wear a 31!

you are so right Frisco. it is indeed about the jeans. I have several pair of various brands and while they are size 6 or 8 and plenty big enough, there is something just not quite right about the fit.  recently shopped at old navy and found a particular style and cut that was exactly right. size 6. so i bought a hot pink pair of corduroy ones and a pair of standard blue ones. so great. and i know i will get lots of use. love my hot pink jeans!!    diane

I am with you all the way, except my jeans don't last that long.  It might be because I buy them in the children's department at Nordstoms.  I am wearing a size 12 children's and they only last about a year.  No worries, I don't really mind shopping.  :)

I love the concept of using clothes as a barometer of success. My doctor mentioned that I could gain a few pounds if I wanted too but I like the wardrobe I am building. I never liked the plus size options and I am buying things I really like. I can wear a women's 0 but prefer to get a 2. I can also get into a girls 14/16. I now buy tops in girls because they are cheaper!

This is the entire concept behind my maintenance strategy.  When people ask me how I "keep it off" I tell them that I threw out all my old clothes.  I keep one size up in jeans for after babies (I'm not done having kids yet) but everything else must go.  I figure I'll either be skinny, or naked!  No more skinny clothes and fat clothes... just clothes!

However, the thing that "sucks" is that I bought several different washes in my favorite jeans when I thought I was done losing... then I had to buy more a few months later in a smaller size (a 2 from the Gap!!!).  I know, rough problem, lol.  Great for the ego, tough on the wallet!  I guess when it comes down to it, I'll take a 26 inch waist with an empty wallet any day.

I needed to read this today. I've been up three pounds since plastics at the end of September. I've had nothing but nasty things to say to myself about it, same jeans, same for but I'm still treating it like a crisis. Three pounds scares me that I'll be 249.8 again any day, I know I'm eating right and walking but it's still hard to trust tht they'll come off this week.

I just love this post!

I have some jeans that I just love, but since I am smaller now, I probably need to get some "fitting" jeans.

I am determined not to get into bigger clothes!

Thanks!
