Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Wednesday 11/21
Okay, y'all, I've gotta start posting here. Back at the beginning of this year, I had ballooned up to 182 ... only it wasn't air, heh heh, it was pure-dee fat from eating garbage for a couple of years. Then my poor ol' back went kaput, I was in really bad shape, and I was on so many pain pills and was still in so much pain that I could hardly eat. Poof, down to 142. Too skinny. Looked like a shriveled up old crone. Once I had my spinal surgery and began to recover, I was determined not to gain that blubber back; however! I have fallen back into some bad habits and am, as of this morning, up to 154. DANG!! I wanta be accountable here!!! I'll see how long it lasts ... but I don't have any hopes for weight loss until after the weekend.

Hey Mom :-) My back is loads better, thanks, but I will always be slightly disabled (legs don't work quite right, and I use a cane to walk). The horrible HORRIBLE nerve pain I had in my hips and legs is a gazillion times better, but I still have some, and I'm still on pain pills, *sigh*. Just about a month and a hal*****hough, I was able to get back to one of my (three) little part-time jobs, my church music director-organist job! Tricky at first, because when one plays the organ, she has to play with her feet as well as hands. My legs were so weak! But now I'm just about back to normal. I'm forcing myself to play some of my big ol' hefty organ pieces, just so my legs will strengthen. Last Sunday, I played J. S. Bach's Now Thank We All Our God, a big, fun, blaster of a piece! And I was indeed thankful!
I've also begun to teach piano lessons again, although most of my students moved on to other teachers (at my suggestion). I've gotten several new students, so it is a start. I had to give up my third job, a secretarial job which helped with the financial situation of being at a little church and not having a full studio of piano students. Just couldn't do all three anymore! But I was granted Social Security Disability, so that fills the gap ... and even though I am working very part-time now, I don't feel guilty taking the SSDI; I don't believe I will ever be able to work enough to make a living wage.
And that was probably more than you wanted to know, Mom! But thank you for asking!!
