Whining - Broken Nose

I just needed to whine for a minute somewhere besides the main forum. Too many people on the main forum wish they were the ones to give me the broken nose, I think. Safer here.

I got my nose broken in karate last night. Hubby is out of the country. Drove myself to urgent care. Sort of a cherry on top of the craziest, most ****** up last 10 days I've had in a long, long time. These last two weeks might qualify for the "worst 2 weeks ever" award.

It was an accident. The blackbelt that did it felt terrible. I ended up consoling her. Probably looked pretty funny - me holding onto a wad of kleenex against my nose while I put an arm around her and told her it was okay.

The pain's not as bad this am. The headache last night was a ***** Scored some Vicodin out of the deal, but I can only take it at night. One of those pills knocks me out for hours and I've got to still be mom.

I'm off to ice my nose.

Glad I voted via mail. I'd be seriously pissed if I had to stand in line to vote today.

Thanks Diane.

I have a high pain tolerance. I'm just ignoring the pain and working. Migh****ch a movie later.

Soon as my kids go to bed, I'm taking the vicodin.

Ugh, the bruising has begun.

Thanks.

I had a "poor me" moment and dove broken nose, head and shoulders first into the Halloween candy that, up until yesterday, held no interest for me. It was uglier than the bruises under my eyes. I looked like Augustus Gloop. Not one of my finer moments.

I'm not happy with myself for the weak moment, but I have a plan to get back on track today. I'm cooking lots of yummy stuff and will have tons of "good" food at my fingertips.

Are your eyes black?  Try sleeping (with vicadin) with your head raised if you can stand it.  It will help to limit the bruising and swelling.  Take ibuprofen, 600 mg 3 X's a day  to keep the swelling down.

You poor baby.  And I am sure you were being so good to work out.

Can you get some plastics out of this that insurance might cover?  Just looking for the silver lining.

HAHA! I thought about seeing if I could get some plastic out of this, but the break isn't severe enough (yes, I did ask.) Great minds think alike.

I'm so sorry you got hurt! Arnica Montana which can be purchased at Whole Foods etc, is good to help with bruising and swelling.
