Bright-eyed and busy-tailed

I am one of those people who hates, hates, hates Daylight savings time because it's inefficient and illogical and also because I have a hell of a time adjusting every time the clocks change.

That said, today I woke up at a reasonable time and feel refreshed. So there's something to be sad about getting that extra hour of sleep, I guess.

Also, these days, all my clocks adjust themselves except the oven and microwave and the one in my car. Having self-adjusting clocks tickles my fancy and appeals to the engineer in me. mail

What do you guys think?

Mixed emotions, I guess.  I like the extra hour this weekend and not getting up in the dark, and I like getting the longer days in the spring, but I'm with you on the inefficient and illogical and I have too damn many clocks to change.  My watch, my Jeep, my car, my stove, 2 wall clocks, my alarm clock, sigh.... let alone hubby's that he screws up and I have to fix.

In the fall, I HATE it! In fact I loathe it!  When I was 22 and got an extra hour at the bar, I thought it was cool, but now if I want "an extra hour of sleep", I'll just go to bed earlier.  Having it dark before dinner makes me want to pull my hair out.  I definitely suffer from SAD and this does not help.  However, in the spring when we jump ahead and it is suddenly light so much longer, I LOVE it!  Overall, I think it is antiquated and has no relevance in modern society, but if we stopped it, I would want to stay in the permanent "spring ahead" status so that we get as much evening light as possible!

I also wonder if the impact on our serotonin levels does anything to our weight/eating.

Hubs has an old alarm clock. It self adjusts, but since they changed the schedule it self-adjusts a week early. He just leaves it wrong for a week and it makes me nuts!

That said, I love the time change in the fall and hate it in the spring. Seems my body adjusts just fine to that extra hour of sleep, but takes a while to adjust to getting up an hour earlier.
