Freezing My A** Off

I'm ssssoooo cccccold.

Talk to me about tricks for staying warm. I have 2 snuggies. I wear socks, shoes/slippers in the house. Sweatshirts. Multiple layers. Thermal underwear.

I need something for my hands while I sit at the computer and work.

I spent 20 years acclimating my family to 65 on the thermostat in the winter and 75 in the summer. Now they are revolting and saying I can't up the heat. I also hate the thought of wasting money on heat, but I work from home and I'm freezing!

 Any ideas?

The silk underwear are great (several brands, Google them or even check Amazon) and even have sock liners and glove liners. Also check out small desk-top space heaters that don't warm the room but will keep the area around your hands warm.

Everyone says you stop being so cold after a year or so... I'm still cold all the time.  Not to the extent that I was in the beginning, (my first winter post op I had to sleep in a hoodie and sweatpants under layers of down) but definitely still cold.  I don't have any winning advice other than breaking down to turn up the heat.  Perhaps use a space heater near where you're working all day.  Hopefully this will not last for you!

I hope it's only temporary.

Wintersilks long underwear. They have many diff thicknesses- and glove liners that are thin to thicker, and you can still type in them, even if you look odd while doing it.

I ran cool pre-op, now I'm just about a human popsicle most days.. if the house dips below 72, I've got sweaters on.

Thanks! I need something for my hands. Hard to type with mittens on. :-)

Yes, I know this sounds kooky but wear a warm hat.  We lose most of our body heat through our heads, also, drink hot tea.  I get cold very easily now too.  It does get better with time, but the insulation is not there anymore, so it's not that much better.
