184.2

A direction I am more comfortable with after 4 days of gains! A completely bizarre feeling losing after taking it easy. I plan another light day, probably helping DH do more research and maybe some recreational web design.

Rob, for the next few months, don't let the scale worry you too much.  The swelling comes and goes for its own reasons and it's impossible to predict where the scale will go from day to day.  I would just focus on healing, eating on your plan, eating plenty of protein, and taking it easy for a while.  I love the scale too, but had to rethink its importance during the first few months of healing after the LBL.  You are rocking your recovery in a big way.

Thanks Elina!

You know how it is for us newbies - We panic any time the scale goes in the wrong direction!  I use my reason to try and control the emotional reaction.

I just miss my long walks and runs!  Doing everything I can to recover quickly.  That "instant gratification" thing keeps getting me though!

I will keep listening to you guys and following your advice - you never lead me wrong!

I am 104 even this morning.  Life is good.

I visited my friend yesterday, she is 10 months out from VSG and four pounds away from her very low goal weight.  She looks fantastic and feels great.  I was amazed at how little she is still eating.  I mean it's really tiny amounts.  Our doctor told her that she had one of the longest stomachs he had ever seen, and I am starting to think that he customized her sleeve to be smaller because of the length.  She is still eating about 1/4 cup of food at a sitting.  I asked her if she minded the small portions, she just grinned and told me that I should be jealous.  She loves the control and freedom this gives her.  I think she has an amazing attitude.  She told me that she absolutely loves her sleeve and fully believes that she will never regain.  I am just passing on her great story.

I saw my doc for my 1 year last week and I was told that I have one of the "smallest" Sleeves. At a year out, I can eat about 2 oz total at a sitting. If I eat just meat, I about 1.5 oz and I'm done. Sometimes, I can get in a little bit of veggies, but I usually have to eat them as a separate meal/snack.

I'm certainly not complaining about it. But, it does force me into eating more small meals everyday.

Yes, that's what she has to do.  She told me that she eats at least six times a day just to get her nutritional needs met.  Does it bother you to not be able to have a larger meal?
