Before I forget what the scale said this morning.........165.4 so on the way down again.
Mom - if the symptoms you have listed alone qualify one as having Aspergers, then I have it too. I understand the test you took would have been more detailed and specific. Really though, I would say what Rob said. If you are happy with the person you are etc., does it matter if you have Aspergers or not? If you were to go and get a diagnosis as such, would it change your life for the better? Is there something you would hope to change with any kind of psychological treatment?
I have actually thought you were quite outgoing for as long as I have been in this group since you are the one that starts everyday, and you always add something interesting about your world. You have certainly never come across as awkward, but a group on the internet is different, of course, than in person.
Take care all,
Jane

135.5 this morning.
I'm a psychologist, Mom, and if you came to see me I'd tell you that unless your problems are causing you significant distress don't worry about them. Based on the traits you listed I have Asperger's too and I know I don't. Introversion, yes. Shyness, yes. An aversion to change, yes. Asperger's, no.
Human behavior, like lots of other things, is on a bell curve and some of us are at the low end on social skills. There's a lot wrong with the way the American Psychiatric Association decides on what to include in the DSM and how they determine the criteria for a disorder.
Okay, off my soapbox now...
