Two weeks post plastic revisions

Two weeks go I was in Mexico with a friend while she had plastics with my surgeon. I decided to have some mall revisions while there. I had my big work done December 2011.

My arms ended up bigger than I hoped. I had really huge arms to start with. When Dr. Sauceda saw them in June, he agreed they could be revised. He revised the entire scar line and did intensive lipo on my right arm.

I had a long thigh lift in December. I ended up with a small fat pad at the top f one thigh. He went in and gave me a six in*****ision on each side to make them symmetrical. He did a lot of lipo to my stubborn saddlebags again this time.

In December he put fat into my face but it was draining out. I have 0 natural fat in my face. He said he used the most stubborn fat from my thighs and put it into my face starting at my temples. Hopefully it will stay put this time.

Dear God, please take the fat from my thighs and leave it in my face this time!

Recovery has been uneventful. Surgery was three hours. I spent two weeks in Mexico under daily medical care. Two nights in a clinic, then hotel. I still have stitches to remove but the four drains came out after a week.

The hardest part for me was the weight gain. I left home at 143. Two days after surgery, 159! I swore I would never see that number again. This morning I am back to 143. No real walking for six weeks so I'm a bump on the log. Watching movies, reading and eating. Did I mention that I'm hungry all the time?

Great experience. I love Dr. Sauceda.

When I got home Wednesday night, my size 6 skinny jeans fit perfectly. That made me happy!

Yay! Glad for you! If/when I ever decide to do plastics, I'd seriously consider him.. What do you do about the drains- travelling/getting them pulled?

In December, I came home with two drains. I removed them myself. It's really quite easy. Snip the stitches holding it in and tug quickly! Took less than 10 seconds for it to come out. And I am the squeamish type! I had 11 total drains.

This time all four drains came out after a week.

Dr. Sauceda specializes in massive weight loss patients. Helen I was there, he operated on 4 of us. Three OH members and my friend Nancy. He does consultations in the states once a year. Last June in Vegas. Next year will be East Coast. He alternates year to year.

Lee, glad to hear that everything is going well for you. The hunger must be a bear, if you can't walk. Dense, dense protein will help, if you can do it.

Take Care,

Gail

Hi Gail, in Mexico I was eating two protein bars and a shake, plus some dense protein. Now at home I am still eating two quest bars and 2-3 protein meal/snacks. I am hungry every two hours. In December I had a metabolic boost for five weeks post op. I had to up my calories and protein. I am aiming for 125 protein or more to help with the incision healing. The scale has dropped three pound since Thursday. I may still have some fluid weight on me. I'm watching carbs but eating when hungry if its 2-3 hours post meal/planned snack. Last time, I was eating cheese and crackers every afternoon, not a lot but a planned snack. This time avoiding that for a bigger protein punch. My energy is great. Yesterday, I Went/was taken to trader joes in the morning to shop, then out to a movie.

I am glad you are back home and recovering well.  Sounds like everything worked out as well as can be expected.  Can't wait to see at the November meeting.

Thanks Elina. I'm recovering with a freezer full of green chicken soup that I made before the trip. See you in November!
