Beer
Yeah, Ive really been on the fence about this... thinking the whole "is it worth it"? Even before surgery I did not drink that much, however a cold beer does cross my mind from time to time. Just worried about the carbonation. I guess Ill just take it really slow when (if) the time comes.
Thanks again everyone for the valuable input.

Funny you should ask this today. Today was the first time I had a beer, well it ended up being two beers. They were lite beers and I had no problem with them. I am three years and three months out now and have been maintaining for almost three years. I think I will have a beer once in a blue moon, just like I have dessert once in a while and see how it effects me. The carbonation did not bother me at all.
Glad to hear this. When I do have a beer, I want to enjoy it, not be worried about if it will do any damage to my sleeve. Isn't that the point in having one after all? I LIKE the taste of beer! I'm glad you did not have any problems. By the way, Elina. I saw the pictures that Frisco posted and you look

The carbonation in beer is pretty much nothing. There is much more carbonation in diet soda. When I drink beer, what bothers me is that I don't like beer, not the carbonation.

I think it depends on your own tolerance for carbonation. I'm not a beer drinker (can't stand it), but I do drink a diet coke every afternoon. Yes, I know it is not good for you, blah blah blah, but it is my one vice. I indulge every day while my little ones are napping, and I have not intentions to stop. Anyway, I can drink it with no problem as long as it is over ice to cut down the intensity of the carbonation. I definitely can't drink it straight from the can anymore. However, even pre-surgery, I never liked how carbonated it was right from the can.
