Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Tuesday 10/2

Good morning. Rainy and cool here. Would have been a good day to sleep in.

Today's weight: 138.8. Alright, dammit. I'll change my ticker to 139.

Question for the tiny people (under 5'3"): I am 5'8". I'm a bit below my "ideal" weight of 147 per the charts but still BMI 21ish. And 5'8" is well into the tall range for a woman. Here's the thing though: I wear a small in the top and a small to medium in the bottom (a medium sometimes only because of my wide hips).

What the heck do you tiny people do? I'm trying to imagine what size someone my BMI and 5' tall wears - would an XS be too large?

Vanity sizing. It's just crazy. A 5'8" woman who is not anorexic-thin should NOT wear a small, because 5'8" is by definition not a small woman. Makes no sense. I should be at minimum a medium in any logical world.

That's my rant for the day. How's by you?

Can't answer the tiny thing. I'm a mens medium shirt. Although I think I could fit into a mens Small. As the medium is kind of baggy on me. I'm refusing to try on the small as I never imagined myself fitting into a medium yet a small. I always thought I would end up in a large. This is coming from a 5x.

 Mike,
Embrace the size small.  You have worked hard.  You deserve it.

 133 pounds.  All good here.

I'm not tiny.  But will chime in to your question.

I am 5 foot 8 and 1/2 inches.

When feeling frugal I will sometimes try to buy some of my everyday clothes at Costco or other discount warehouses.  This no longer works for my size.  Tried to buy shorts at Costco in a size 4, Dockers brand, and they were too big.  4 was the smallest size that they carry and they had very few in that size to begin with.   Poor me right :)!  Smiling all the way to the return desk, no complaints here.

I do look in the junior dept at places like Kohls or Nordstrom because the sizes do fit however at 45 years old, it's hard to find styles that are appropriate for me in Juniors.    Who knew we would have this problem?  :)

Stay away from old lady stores like Coldwater Creek.  Their XS is almost always too big.

The good news is that high end couture fits.  The expensive designers have not seemed to embraced the vanity sizes yet.  But the bad news is I can't afford them.  Or do I really have a place to wear them in Indiana?

It's a skinny ***** problem to have and I embrace it.

Find someone who can do amazing alterations and befriend her.  Just know that spending a little more on clothes when altering or buying couture is way worth it.

Now if only I could find my pants in LONG.  Don't even get me started on that.

My tiny petite friends wear xs,childrens and petite clothes.

I'm 5'5 and wear smalls and I could wear xs but mentally I never buy xs. I can wear 0 pants but mentally I can't see myself as a 0. That doesn't sit right with me.

122.0. Ate like a pig while in my hometown and back to my normal weight. Enjoyed every treat!

142.6

I'm a shorty girl, well, on the border at 5'3", I have asked tiny asian girls this question and they tell me they shop in the petite section (where the torso/crotch lengths are shorter) and in the children's department.

I will never have that problem though, even though I can fit in the smallest sizes at WALMART, I feel like a skinny b*tch there! hahahaha
