Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Tuesday 9/25
Good morning.
Question of the day: What one thing would you say is most important for you in terms of staying on track? I realize there's no single answer to maintenance, I'm just interested in seeing what folks consider the most important thing for them.
For me, it's planning my eating ahead of time. I track my food, but I do it the night before. Right now I have my eating planned for the entire day to meet my calories and protein. During loss I rarely deviated. Now I will substitute, but having the plan keeps me from impulse eating.
Today's weight: 139.8. Slowly gaining back the flu weight loss.
Who's next?

i would agree with you Mom. Tracking helps me most of all. Being able to see the logical consequences of decisions and changes will help keep me in control when I want barber off course. It's easier to stick to a plan than to fly by the seat of your pants.

130.5 which is better than yesterday! In all honesty though, yesterday I was still within goal range so it's alright... Just prefer the lower end of my range
As far as what keeps me on track, I'd probably say continuing to track my food or continuing some of the "basics". I use my iPhone to track my daily food and liquid intake, track my daily weight, time between my bites, time how long I have until I can drink after eating, etc. All of those things were habits I started immediately after surgery and have continued and I feel like they've contributed to my success.
Today should be interesting. Functioning on 3 hours of sleep, taking a big exam first thing this morning, going to my other two classes, then doing a stupid amount of homework/studying.

Retaing water big time.
Biggest thing for me is WPW. Weigh, protein and water. I try to hit all 3 of these daily.

135.5 today, must be the Gatorade from the past 2 days. Not worried.
Weighing every day is what keeps me on track. I tend to eat the same things every day, with minor variation, so tracking is mostly in my head, but I ignored the scale for years and swore if I lost my weight I would weigh daily forevermore.

138.2.. and heading to Chicago for a concert and a B&B night.. with some likely off-plan stuff, food & beverage wise.. so it may go up a bit temporarily, though I'm going to try to be smart about it as I'd like to stay in the 130's now that I've seen them!
For me, same- it used to be just logging all my foods.. then I saw a post from you about pre-planning the day's eating.. started doing that the night before and it took even more of the impulse decisions out of it. I may substitute here and there if we get an invite too, but otherwise- I know what I'm eating, I have the foods in the house, and I can just coast for the day, packing my lunch and snacks and go.
