Gain and panic check in

I really thought I would see maybe a half pound gone this morning.  Nadda.  Nuttin.  Nil.  ZERO LOST!  Damn.  I worked my tail off (well I guess I didn't work it off cuz it's still there) all weekend.  I behaved in the food department.  My muscles are still store today from all the work I did.

What a disappointment this morning.  I can't let the scale discourage me though.  We have company coming this weekend and I AM NOT GOING TO BAKE.  The grandkids can have fruit as dessert.  I'll get som FF Cool Whip to top it off and some SF pudding.   They will be happy.  And I will be good.

Maybe tomorrow I'll see the scale move downwards again.  *sigh*

My experience, Wanda, is that it does not come off as quickly and easily as it did the first time.

I had packed on more than 30 pounds by the time I was two and a half years post-op, and I could NOT shift it for anything.  The only thing that finally dropped the poundage was that I got horribly ill about six or seven months ago (nothing to do with WLS), and I've dumped almost 40 pounds.  I wouldn't recommend my way of doing things for anything in the world.  I'd rather be fat than go through what I've been through (spinal surgery, my fourth), but I am glad the excess blubber is finally gone.  Now I've just got to keep it off.

Good luck, and good for you for catching it before it turned into a ton :-)

If your muscles are really sore, you might also be retaining some water in them while they heal. Hang in there!

How are you doing Wanda? Are you able to stay focused?

Im away from home and a scale for almost three weeks.  I'm eating as carefully as I can for eating out every meal of the day.

I was down 2 lb then it was back again this morning.  I'm hoping it''s water weight.  My shoes were really tight today and my feet actually hurt when I went for my walk.  That doesn't generally happen, so I'm thinking I'm retaining.  Darn it, it still plays with my brain.  The grandkids will be here tomorrow.  I made a pot of chili.  Have cantalope, watermelon, bananas and grapes for snacks.  Right now I'm craving something sweet, so I'm chewing on some grapes.  I think I need to up my exercise even more.

I hope you are having a great time with the kids.  It sounds like you prepared good foods for yourself.

When I want something sweet, I have beem eating mini sweet bell peppers. I get huge bags at Costco.  They have a spicy yogurt dip that is LW carb. I put a little in each pepper and it feels very decadent.  It's crunchy, creamy, spicy and sweet all at once.  It's my low carb crack. I am away from home and jonesing for some!

Hang in there and remember that you really don't want added pounds!

The scale was down a couple of pounds this morning.  We had pizza for supper.  I ate 3/4 of a piece and not all the crust.  Had chili again for lunch and fruit for b'fast.  My DH wanted me to buy Little Debbie snack cakes when I went to the grocery store.  I told him no, that there is plenty of fruit in the house to eat instead.

He took the kids to buy some pumpkin carving tools and came home with 3 packages of candy bars(6 Reeses per package)  Egads!  At least the kids are eating it up.  Of course, DH bought it more for himself than the kids.  Been there, done that.  I know all the excuses for purchasing such things!

He's supposed to lose some weight before we go to Hawaii in November because he wants to take a helicopter ride over the volcano.  He weighs in at 260.  Anything over 250, you have to pay double and I told him we are NOT paying double for him.  At $600 a pop, not thinking paying twice that for him since he hasn't tried to lose the extra weight is an option.  Not looking too hopeful for taking that ride.

He thinks he can lose it in 2 weeks.  He has actually gained 15 lb since I told him he has to stay under 250. lol

Wanda, it's too bad your husband is sabotaging you. I bet the two of you used to eat together and now you don't want to play. It sounds like he is trying to get you to throw in the towel.  Were you self pay?  Maybe remind him about it?

Hang tough and focus on what you really want!
