26 months after surgery....

...I just completed my first half marathon!

I cannot believe it.  26 months ago I was 250 lbs, having dieted down from 270lbs, which was after dieting down from 304 lbs.  26 months ago I had surgery.  I cannot believe that I just ran 21.1 K.

Well, "just"...means yesterday.  But still!  I am so proud of myself.  I even beat my goal time by 4 minutes (2:20 goal time; 2:16 chip finish).

I just...man.  I would never have believed this was possible.  I won't lie, there were tears.

YOU GO, GIRL!  Congratulations on your accomplishment.  There is nothing you can't do if you put your mind to it and you are living proof.  Enjoy the post-run 'glow'.

Now I am going to ask you what everyone asked me:  Would you do it again?  LOL

Great job!

Thank you for your congratulations.  This really was a huge thing for me.

Now, of course, I'm terrified I'll just sink back into slug-land.  I did sign up for the Resolution Run, a 10K on December 31st, so at least I'll have to stay in some sort of shape....

I'm almost recovered enough to say I'll do another half.  I think I might do this one again next year.  Training in the heat (brutal) to then race in the fall (gorgeous) worked well for me!  This is assuming my knees hold out which my doctor doesn't seem overly confident of.

Sometimes I think about how terrified I was of getting the surgery and I can't believe how grateful I am for getting it.  It's crazy!
