Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Monday 9/24
Good morning and happy Monday. In the 40's this morning and I'm placing my order for my INgirl silk long undies today!! I was hoping that since my metabolism has sped up and I'm not as cold as I was during loss maybe things were back to normal, but I've concluded that even now I'm cold natured compared to other folks. I have a space heater in my office and people who come in complain how hot it is in there.
I've discovered another odd thing. I am an avid insect photographer, especially dragonflies, butterflies, bees and the odd really cool spider. I had gotten really discouraged over the last year because none of my shots were coming out as sharp as they had. Yesterday hubs and I went out to Harpers Ferry and I broke out my camera for the first time in a long time - all my shots were crisp and beautiful. I'm wondering if my hands were a little shaky during the loss period because of my body adjusting. Sounds weird, I know, but it was all the time for a long time and suddenly "poof" the problem is gone.

Lond fall night walk with hubbs last night. I love this time of year as the weather becomes crisp. I was a bit disappointed though that we were not able to sit out on the porch very long without me freezing. I am definitely going to have to buy me a heavier coat. Even layering did not help.

I wear the unisex small, or women's medium sz long underwear (just go by your measurements).. the lightweight #1 warmth factor are very sheer- they work best under tees and sweaters.. and are great for cool offices and early fall days.. the weights up from there get more opaque, and thicker/warmer, all the way up to toasty.. There's a little blurb on each header for the different thicknesses that kind of tells you how warm they should be.
I have a couple 3's and a few 1's. I even layer a one thinner then a thicker over that with a sweater over top~! They also work great to sleep in, comfy and never get too warm in them.. They are mostly layering pieces, but the thicker ones can be worn casual as a shirt too for hiking and stuff.
I also tend to check the clearance first as sometimes you get lucky. Some day when I'm more flush I may invest in the #4 & 5 layer pieces.. I never find those on sale.. but I may hunt them at the end of the season.
I also love the sock & glove liners for some addl warmth under my normal gloves..
I always ran cold in the Winter, now it's just gotten painful. I'm not too fond of their fashion clothes, but the long underwear stuff works nice. They may have a slight smell when you first get them, it seems the silks usually do (I've had it with them and other brands).. but it washes out. I just use Woolite vs their silk wash.. The silks also won't stay as shiny as they are when you first get them, esp if you are like me and throw everything in the dryer!
I gotta get some. I just buy the men's tops but cut them to fit. Lol
