Happy last day full of summer! Autumn begins tomorrow.

Still a little tired, but feeling better. However, I am quite annoyed at this bug I had because...

Today's weight 138.6. A new low. Yeah, I know - it's a sick weight and I'll bounce back up quickly. but seriously? When I had it back over 140 and holding? Seriously?

Looking forward to a lovely weekend. If I'm feeling more energetic maybe a short hike, but none of my all day treks.

Happy Friday!

 Mom,

Glad you are on the mend!

141.2 today

guess i am hitting a new plane of "140-142", I can accept that as my maintenance.

182.4

Down 5.2 lbs since Monday.  And I should lose another 5 lbs of skin in T-11 Days.  Excited about that - can ya tell?  My recliner comes today, so I had to rearrange the living room last night.  Not too happy with the flow of the new arrangement it feels less open.

Seriously though, I'm a little freaked by not running so am doing more cross training and not eating as much as I should.  But Dang-it - who has time to eat all that, LOL.

The company that built my house likes showing it to people, so I am staging the house for that.  I am getting $100 for this weekend - and I could use the extra cash right now.  As part of the staging I am going to bake some pumpkin butter filled scones with cream cheese icing.  Nothing sells a house to a young family like a house filled with the smells of baked goods.  Instead of doing the biscuit style scones I am going to make these more like Starbucks and put the icing on in a basket weave pattern.

Did I mention that theres Bailey's Irish Cream in the icing?  Should go over nicely!

After that, a hike with hubby maybe.  Next weekend I have relatives invading - My parents and My sister are coming in to help take care of me after my surgery.  Dad's only staying for the day of surgery, the others are staying until I am better.

Like Albert Einstein said - "There is nothing better than a close knit loving family, that lives several states away".  Wish me a speedy recovery!

I'm glad you're feeling better Mom! That bug I had back in June took off 10lbs fast, and it came back pretty quick once I was over it too, it'll find you again and stabilize.

136.2, down another half pound.. hmm.. and I can tell I have a little hormonal water weight happening just by morning under eye puffiness but the scale is going completely the opposite of expected.

This prolonged of a weight drop is becoming just a little more unsettling by the day.. but I am not going to eat crap carbs just to get it to stop. Patience, and reminding myself I am not wasting away, I am not even close to underweight..

However..

I am going to a carneceria tonight for dinner with a bunch of friends.. they have a huge and varied selection of standard and not so standard meats on the menu.. from steak to tripe and quail, rabbit, and dove! It's going to be an epic meat fest. From what I've heard, this place is amazing, fresh everything, very traditional, and very, very good.

carneceria? Is it a butcher shop with a restaurant attached? I have always assumed that carneceria was a butcher shop because in my area all the mexican butcher shops are called carneceria. Whatever it is, it sounds really great! I'd like to join you! LOL!

Yep, exactly! They have a butcher/produce shop with a restaurant inside! Best cheap limes & cilantro & veggies ever.. plus any type of meat you can imagine and a great traditional sit down restaurant too.. great way to get more customers- right? Eat, then shop!

Had to give you an update... had mourning dove adobo.. oh, my. Can you say bone-sucking good? Sorry if this offends anyone that may be sensitive about the little birdies- but they were sooo cute in the sauce on the plate! Tiny little tasty things they were. More than half came home..

YUM! I love adobo sauce. Dove tastes similar to quail, yes? Funny, I was thinking about your dinner tonight while I was out with a friend having Chinese. I guess I was feeling envious of your food adventure. So glad to hear it was a success! Itrust you'll be going back!

One of my friends ordered quail, so we compared birds.. The dove are definitely gamier, darker meat than quail, and smaller- but very tasty.. I think I'd get the same exact meal! The quail at this place were a nice size, compared to quail I've had elsewhere, they looked good too.. but I don't get a chance to eat dove at all.. they also had rabbit, which I may try though I've eaten rabbit before.
