Hello all. I had my VSG two years ago. I am cold still. I remember asking my doctor when will my body regulate he said at a year. It is two years and all most 3 months and I was feeling cold in August. Doe your body ever regulate???.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

How is your thyroid? What are your iron levels? If these are low, coldness can be a factor, as well as decreased fat tissue. How is your metabolism? Are you exercising?

All testing is normal. I exercise a lot. I guess it will take me longer.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Mine is finally regulating!  We'll see what happens when winter comes.

yeah it eventually did. my hubby is now less than a year out and is in the cold stage. he used to be a polar bear.

but I live in a cool climate and always take a sweater. and never wear shorts which is a good thing since my saggy skin legs look pretty bad.

try more exercise?    diane

I'm over two years out and I still get cold easily.  I think this is just how it's going to be for me.  My husband will be walking around the house with no shirt on and I'm putting on a hoodie and blanket to watch tv.

Note: all my labs are great, so it isn't that.

My coldeness issues were related to low iron.

I can only speak for myself: I have always been freezing all my life and WLS didn't change that. In fact, my body temperature now averages 98.3 instead of 97.5 so maybe I'm slightly more comfortable these days. But not that much. I wear sweaters to work in the summer!

I go see my WLS in two weeks. I will have had another blood test by than. My iron was tested last month and it is normal. But my WLS takes 13 tubes of blood he checks things I never heard of. I will again ask him if he has people like me and I guess I should just keep dressing warm. I need hunter socks I think. Thanks all.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

I'm still freezing all the time too....I think I have gotten a bit better than early out from surgery, but not much....I already hated living in upstate NY due to the cold (since I'm originally a Floridian)....but now it has become truly unbearable...I'm cold even in the summer too...air conditioning is the worst to me now....and I have to bring a sweater everywhere....and it is like even my bones are cold....it is so weird...I dream of moving to a warm place again....
