Ok I need b'fast ideas too

I've never been a b'fast lover.  I'm finding that I am getting so bored with the usual - eggs, cheese, oatmeal, fruit, PB, yogurt.    I've tried various frozen options. Those are like eating cardboard flavored with eggs.  Blech!

What do you all eat for b'fast that sticks to your ribs and keeps you satisfied?  I need something quick and easy...even grab and go.  Or something I can make ahead and freeze that doesn't taste like the aforementioned garbage made by Jimmy Dean, Bob Evans, etc.

I would prefer that it be low carb, but at this point in time, I'm willing to sacrifice just to find something different.   I may resort to steaks, chicken breasts or pork chops.  But those aren't exactly grab and go kinds of foods.

Any good protein rich muffins?  Variations on oatmeal?

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

I understand! I get stuck in the same old rut and eat the same things day in day out.

My fav breakfast of the moment is an egg white omelet. I've been using 2 egg whites, some asparagus tips and an ultra thin slice of provolone cheese. I make 5 on Sunday evening and freeze.

Grab one out of the freezer when packing my food for the day. Heats up quickly and tastes yummy!! Each one has about 100 calories and is very low carb.

I also add a 1/2 of a whole grain english muffin. Great breakfast for me and easily fits into my daily calorie/carb allotment for the day.

I do love omelets but don't take the time to make one.  Never thought about freezing them.  How long do you zap them?

Thanks for the suggestion!

I dont cook during the week so if I want anything "homemade" it's made and frozen on Sunday. LOL!

I try to remember to put one in the frig every evening so that when I get ready to zap it, it's partially thawed. I usually heat in 20 second increments because with eggs if you go too long they get rubbery. I dont like rubbery eggs. :)

well i hope you get some good answers because i need them too. i mostly have gy with a dab of honey and flax seed.

stuff that i also like are morningstar farms veggie burgers (nuked with a bit of spagetti sauce),  oatmeat with a spoon or two of PBS stirred in, and the various egg bites from egg face.  except i am too lazy to make the individual tarts so i just make a pan of them and cut them up. popeye pie might be good : pound of browned ground beef, a package of frozen spinach thawed, 4 eggs and a half cup of some shredded cheese. mix well and bake and cut into squares. can be frozen and nuked.

how about some sliced deli turkey rolled up around some cheese and nuked? put an asparagus spear (pre cooked ) inside and roll it up.

or my brother's favorite:  ezekiel bread (these healthy tortilla-like things at health food stores or frozen) spread with a little almond butter.  or i used to do this low carb fflat breat spead with a little almond butter.

Thanks Diane.  I think I'll try the Popeye Pie.  I get in such a rut when it comes to b'fast.  I eat a lot of the same things for other meals, but I can vary them so much more, and they are foods that I really like.  I 'm just not that crazy about b'fast foods.

I'll have to look for the ezekiel bread.  I do roll up deli meat with cheese on occasion, but haven't nuked it.  I'll try that for a change of pace.

I love making egg bites from theworldaccordingtoeggface.com .  I usually make a whole batch and take a few out of the freezer the night before.  3 of them is the perfect amount for me and generally I can grab, heat, and go... because usually I am trying to get out the door in a hurry... darn snooze button....

I think she also has a few protein muffin recipes too... I haven't made them in quite a while but I do remember making some banana ones that were very good.

Thanks.  I had forgotten about eggface.  I'll have to go check out her ideas.

Except when I'm traveling, I always have a protein shake for breakfast. I normally don't want solid foods in the morning so shakes work great for me.
