I hadn't heard of leeners.  Thanks for the tip!

It seems like everyone uses New England Cheesemaking!  We have a local store that sells some of their kits and cultures.  I have been reading  Artisan Cheesemaking At Home and am itching to try it out.

I want to try an aged Chevre wrapped in grape leaves macerated in either a Moscato wine or Jack Daniels.

Once I have some basic cheeses down I am going to try some harder cheeses like provolone and cheddar and age those in a two zone wine cellar.

Moscato sounds wonderful, then serve it with fresh figs & invite me!

Winemaking is next on my food hobby list..

I have seriously thought about that!

If you ever come through Nashville - consider yourself invited!

you have probably tried Cypress Grove goat cheeses including Humboldt Fog and Truffle Tremblor. They are made near my house and have won world awards. I love the stuff.  there are also some smoked ones to die for but they are another brand.  gl in making the goat cheeses. i think they are a little lower calorie than regular ones.  love them goats!   diane

I love the Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog!

With Thomas being a chef, and me being a junior Foodie, we make most everything ourselves.  In Maintenance I have given up the 35 calorie bread and started making my own again - it has 60 calories per slice.

I love making stuff at home - No boxed foods here!

We didin't have honey but on our winery picnic this weekend we had fresh fig, chocolate covered strawberries, crostini, flatbreads, Brie, the humboldt fog, and a smokey gouda (kinda random with the other two - I admit).  We had a rosemary garlic infused olive oil and summer sausage to round out the meal.

He loves Granny Smith apples - so I was actually thinking next time I would slice the apples very thin in a whole circle and core them with a donut cutter so they would be little discs.  Then we could cover them in honey and a soft cheese.  Thats sounds pretty awesome - thanks for the idea!

Morning all.

126.8 this morning.  I'm working in the Food bank garden this morning...and I have a helper instead of doing all the work by myself.  Tomorrow I head to Las Vegas for a wedding.  The eating should be interesting there....I'm taking my protein drink and a few protein bars and some almonds.  We're going to Blue Man and taking a Hoover Dam tour while there.

Have a good day.

 109.1 lbs

This is more normal for me. Yesterday's weight (111.3) was indeed water weight.

Have a great day everyone. TGIF! Having a massage this afternoon, which should help my sore muscles. Yeah!!
