I survived the 7.6 earthquake
I am sure you guys saw on the news that Costa Rica wa**** with a 7.6 eathquake yesterday morning. The epicenter was very close to where I live and there is alot of damage here, but only one fatality. The most stressful thing was that my kids were evacuated from their preschool for the Tsunami danger and then I could only find one of my twins and the other was evacuated inland and I didn't know where he was for a few hours. THat was really scary.
When the earthquake actually started I was on OH, go figure and the house began to shake viiolently and then I saw the pool upend itself and the water came straight for the house, glass was breaking, and I did totally Panic and couldn't move. Afterward, when I realized that I couldn't find my son and that we had huge landslides IN OUR YARD, I hit a bowl, took a xanax and then ate peanut butter cookie dough straight. Sorry, but I had to get that out.
But, today is a new day! We have electricity and we are going to leave town for a few days while the clean up is happening. I struggle with anxiety, serious anxiety, so I am going to be kind to myself these next few days.
Count your blessings,
Heather

Glad you're okay and I hope things are speedy for the cleanup!

I thought about you all day yesterday, hoping that you and your family were okay. Glad to hear that you are okay. I don't blame you for being scared. A 7.6 earthquake isn't anything to sneeze at, and this is from someone who lives in CA, where we frequently have earthquakes. 7.6 is MAJOR.
Be kind to yourself. It is normal to be anxious in a situation like this. Being around your family will be very comforting.

Oh Heather, I was wondering about you!
I would have done the same thing! Use the xanax, that stuff is a wonder when needed.. though for me, it makes me nibbly (or less inhibited) so I need to watch it..
I hope things recover ok, it sounds like a lot of clean up and repairs are going to be happening for a while. So sorry to hear someone passed in the aftermath.. hopefully not too many injuries. ((hugs))
