calcium reaction

Different vitamins will make different people feel nauseous at times. It could be the brand (something in the buffer which is the only part that varies between brands) or the size. Usually taking your vitamins with food helps with any nausea.

I had to stop taking zinc because it made me nauseous. But I've been okay with everything else.

I do ok with CVS and Puritan calcium iterate but still prefer Bariatric Advantage chews. I do a combo of pills and chews.

You can return those to Costco. No questions asked.

Thanks everyone!
I've tried cutting the pills in half and did that again today. They still "scratch" on the way down, but I had less nausea with them being smaller. But.... still had queasiness.

I think I'll return the Costco pills and go back to the chewables and  the CVS brand that didn't cause me any problems and maybe even try a liquid form.

Also, great info about the buffers different companies use. I did not know that and that could very well explain why I can tolerate CVS brand, but not the Kirkland.

Thanks again!

Just adding in what I use- NOW brand plain cal citrate powder (I mix it in my shake, can't taste it) and then afternoon I pop some Cal citrate capsules from NOW as well- they go down easy, no big pills.. and those have Mg and Zinc and whatnot in them too iirc. I need to take a Mg oxide capsule too (same brand) in the evening to prevent constipation, plus we never get enough Mg in our diets anyway.

I use the Up & Up brand from Target.  They are about the same size as the Centrum Chewables.  I haven't had any problems with those.  They are torpedo shaped so seem to go down pretty easy.

I haven't had any problems with Nausea after any of my pills.  Sorry!  Let us know if you figure out whats causing this.
