135.0

Well today was supposed to be the start of my fall cleaning but I apparently have some how pulled a muscle in my left groin area. Very painful!! I cannot stand or walk for long periods of time and squatting is not good either so I'm going to start my cleaning but try to take it easy as well. Will see how this goes!

Yesterday's weight - 133

129 this morning. See, I KNEW some of it was water! Not trying to excuse my bad eating earlier in the week, but there were definitely other factors to the overnight spike in weight.

Still miserably sick, thankfully I don't work today. So I'm drinking tea, snuggling my dog and resting in the hopes that my body starts to fight off whatever this gunk is. Gonna skip my run and maybe do some laundry and homework since those activities aren't physically exerting.

Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!

103.6 today.  I have a new concern, and that is that I am getting too thin and am having a hard time eating enough calories.  The exercise is really putting me into a whole new stage of learning to maintain.  I am clearly having to adjust.  My trainer keeps telling me that she will reduce my load if I don't eat more.  I am trying, really, I am, but it's hard to get all this food in.

I am doing an all body workout to total exhaustion plus 15 min. of stretching two times a week and 30-40 min of cardio at about 160-170 heart rate four times a week.  It doesn't sound like that much, but the extra calories burned during the exercise and the increase in my metabolism is crazy.  I am really trying to eat more nuts, avocados, etc., but I am still slowly losing or at least not gaining.  My muscles are visibly growing, so I must be losing fat from somewhere.  I am hard everywhere now, harder than I ever thought I could be. I am lifting much heavier weights than my trainer thought I could this early out.  It's as if I have always had an athlete hidden inside that just couldn't wait to break out.  :)

I can do 50-60 squats, three times and over 200 lunges without getting tired.  It's freaking my trainer out.  :)  She is now having me carry heavy weights over my head as I do the lunges, and I am starting to add weights to the squats as well.  When I work out with her, there are no breaks at all, it's really intense.

Very impressive!! Good for you!! What do you want to do? The weight training is great and the cardio is good, but if you don't want to lose anymore weight, something has to give. Reducing the cardio sessions to 20-30  min is an option and perhaps 3 days/week, instead of 4, at least until your weight stabilizes. What does your trainer recommend? If your trainer is incorporating some cardio into the sessions, such as, circuits, supersets, or pylometrics, then you may not need to do as much cardio. Your metabolism is on fire.

That's exactly it, my metabolism is literally on fire, burning through clean food like crazy.  Even high fat and higher carb food.  I am really shocked at the huge difference the exercise is making.  I can eat nuts by the handful and nothing, I am eating full fat everything now.  My trainer wants me to use coconut oil to try with and to spread avocados on protein bread.  She also wants me to cut down on the cardio.  The two sessions with her, are all circuits and supersets and no breaks at all.  My heart rate is really up through out the workout.  I might just need to scale back, it's just not my style to move backwards.  :)

I think your trainer is right. You could decrease the cardio, since you are getting it, in your weight workouts. You're not in weight loss mode, so the intensity doesn't have to be as great. I know it is hard to cut back, but you also have to do something that is sustainable for the long term, or you will get burnt out. I have been through some periods of feeling burnt out, so I try to be more reasonable, most of the time.

With all the weight training that I have done, I still have loose skin that only surgery will fix. It has improved, and would be much worse, if I had not been weight training for the past 1.5 years. I see surgery in my future.
