I know you may have the urge to move him in with you, but I'd urge caution. Caring for a senior with dimentia is a heavy, heavy commitmen and the more the dementia progresses the more difficult it is for them to adjust to a new environment. If he's going to have to go into assisted living later because you are unable to care for him, it's actually much kinder for him to go now while he is able to adjust. Although I know it might not feel that way in the moment.

My Mom lives with my sister and we've already discussed this issue - how long do we wait before she needs to go to assisted living? We want to wait as long as possible, but not so long she can't adjust when she gets there.
