Adventures in Maintenance: I Really Can't Eat That Edition
Mine is meat - beef, chicken (chicken salad is a little better) and pork. It's not just that I have good restriction, it's that they feel like a lead weight in my stomach. That's why I've become what I call a "mostaterian" - mostly a vegetarian, though I do occasionally have meat.
I, too, use mostly soft protein to get calories in and track/record. I have determined, though, that if I have any regain problem a switch to dense protein will be the first solution.
My view has always been that life is full of "pretty good" solutions - not perfect but much better than whatever the problem was. Looked at that way, my sleeve is a pretty darn good solution to a problem that was ruining my life and health. The fact that it's less than perfect doesn't bother me because I never expected some sort of miracle cure.
