Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Saturday 8/18

Good morning on this most beautiful day ( at least here )

165.  Not bad considering that I know  there was too much salt in the chili.

Our small community had a street party last evening.   They block off about 1 mile of a major thoroughfare and have vendors and street performers and everyone comes.   All you do is stroll up and down and greet and meet.       Then a huge fireworks off the wharf.

Yes, I have a garden but it was so wet in the spring and in June that only now are the pumpkins  thinking about doing anything and I have ONE cucumber.  Count  'em. ONE.

There is always next year.

Have the best day everyone.

136 this morning.  I love this weight, might make it the new new new goal, but I've been steady at 137-138 since January.  So funny to think that I can tell the difference in 2 lbs now, because when I was fat I could gain 10 and not know it...

I don't have a garden but I planted 2 tomato plants.  One is bushy and covered with tomatoes and the other is spindly and has one tiny green marble-sized blob.  They are planted 3 feet apart and get the same care so I don't know what's going on with them.

Following what my surgeon said at our last appointment, and I am back down to 151.5 pretty quickly, not sure I am thrilled with it though. I am still on the fence about following what he said, so I guess we will see.

Sorry LOL I forgot I posted about that on MFP and not here!

When I went in for my one year I told the doc that I was messing with my cals trying to figure out what number works for me to maintain the weight I am at right now, he said he would rather not have me doing that right now, that he wants me to stick to 1200 and not eat back my exercise calories, to just focus on getting in my protein b/c he said I should shoot for about 10 lbs below where I want to end up b/c there is usually a slight bounce back between 18 and 24 months.

I am not thrilled with the advice, but I go back in four weeks to see the nutritionist, so I figured I would follow what he says for at least that time period so that when I go back I will have a better idea about exactly what his "plan" is doing for me and I can discuss it with the nut and show her just what it's doing to me in terms of being/looking too thin.

I will be curious to see how it plays out for you. I, too, am supposed to be around 1200 calories a day for a month or two. I had been up to about 1600 calories and was doing fine, but stabalized a bit higher than I wanted. So I dropped it back down to 1200 to 1400 calories a day this week and have lost three pounds. Fine by me because that was my aim, but I don't really want that to continue. I have had two comments this week about my face being too thin. ( I don't see it, but that figures....never too thin or too rich! LOL)

Bounceback from the time of surgery or when goal is reached? I know with the RNY, there definitely metabolic changes that occur that can lead to bounceback weight at 18-24 months out. I wonder, what it is with the VSG that can lead to bounce back weight.
