2.5 years out today -best compliment

Today is 2.5 years since my VSG.  It feels particularly good because my two surgeons say that if we can maintain from 18-24 months, we stand a better chance of hanging in without regain. I'm hoping they are right!

My sleeve works perfectly. I got back from 12 days vacation Sunday night. I was with people who eat healthy but lots of carbs.  I had treats way more often than I do at home. I gained three pounds when I weighed in Monday morning. This morning I have 1/2 pound to shed to be back where I was pre vacation. It's all about basics for me. Low carb always brings me back.

I walked two miles to my dentist this morning. This afternoon I had a 5.5 mile hike in the Redwoods with a WLS friend.  I was in the elevator heading out for my hike, dressed in Champion bike shorts, sport bra and tank (hot today at 1pm).  There was a guy in the elevator. He looked at me and asked if I was going out for a run!  Imagine that, he thought I was an athlete!  At 61 it just doesn't get any better than that.  I'm most proud of my ability to move and be healthy.  Who knows, I may have to take up running with Alison!

Awww Lee!  You are so wonderful!  You've been such an inspiration on my journey and it makes me smile to see how happy you are.  Congratulations!  ...and thanks for sharing and keeping my hopes alive that this weight loss is finally permanent.  Have a great weekend!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!

Thanks Deb! I've been following you for a long time. You've done such a fabulous job!
I think that the "permanent" part of this journey comes with a lot of dedication and hard work. For me, I have to really count calories/carbs/protein and keep moving.  I think it's a small price to pay for feeling this good!

I wish I was one that could eat whatever to maintain, but I'm not.  I don't think that my story is all that different than other women in their 60's.  I see everyone paying attention to what they ingest.  I'm just glad to do it in skinny jeans!

I know, right? Low carb makes everything easier for me. I can eat more calories if they're low carb.
