Has anyone tried this Paleo bread?

I agree Crossfit is awesome!

If the trainer isn't correcting form, go to a different gym. When form breaks down it means you're lifting too heavy and you're going to get hurt.

I do CrossFit and I'm the weakest one at our gym. But I don't care! 2.5 years ago I weighed 240 lbs, all I care about is that I'm there and doing what I can. The trainers can modify ANY exercise to your fitness level. Most of the people there are pretty hard core, but I actually find it motivating. I also like that the class sizes are small.

Yes, I here ya, I'm not ready to do it either...life is already so difficult foodwise for me that I think going Paleo would just rock my world.  I just think I'll stay low carb.  Even though the Paleo lifestyle makes sense and is so healthy.

At this time, I've been struggling to stay dairy free because I pay for it if I don't. It.  I thought my chronic diarrhea was due to normal post gallbladder function, then I stopped dairy 2 weeks ago because my doc friend thought that I should see if the diarrhea was actually post gallbladder surgery dairy intolerance.  Surprisingly, my BM's went solid for the first time in over a year.  When I added dairy back, and the diarrhea, gas, and cramps started back up, as soon as I eliminated it again, my tummy settled down and BM's became normal.  The conclusion was lactose intolerant.  I'm going to buy some lactaid though, so that I can still eat dairy once in awhile.

Have fun in Oregon Lee!!!  My sister lives there.  I love Oregon!!!  I know what you mean about peoples kitchens.  I'll bet it's loaded with processed food!!!  I prefer simple whole food cooking, and besides, processed crap is usually wheaty and off limits anyway.

More surgery???  Whatcha having done??

Trish, the kitchen is good. All organic, lots of veggies, fruit, protein etc. but also things that don't live in my kitchen.  I have hand to mouth disease. Tough for me to walk past the big bowls of blueberries or trail mix and not want a little hand to mouth action. Nobody is holding me down, forcing me to eat. It's my own choices that are not always the best.

I'm having a bit of nip tuck follow up as long as I will be there with a friend next month.

This is my feeling about all these specialty breads....

If I want a slice of bread, I just have one. Sure, I try to pick a bread with whole grains and not a lot of added sugar, but I just get something from the grocery store. I don't see it being worth it to pay all that money, have to special order something, etc. and a lot of time it doesn't taste that good anyway.

And sometimes, about once a month, I feel like eating a bagel. 100% white flour. With butter and (no sugar added) jelly. So I do.

I so get what you are saying here!  However, store bought wheat bread won't work for me;  if I want a slice of bread, it has to be gluten free, so I still have to pay $7 a 12 ounce loaf for it.  As long as I have to pay the price for the GF bread, it could at least be low carb....so, I would love to know if this GF Paleo bread  tastes good.

Incidently, I have low standards of taste since I have not eaten wheat in over 2 years now due to a life threatening wheat allergy.  If it tastes better than toasted cardboard, I would probably like it....

Well, if you are looking for gluten fee, I'd go for something made out of almond flou ror something like that  rather than some of these Frankenstein breads I see in the market.

There are some great Paleo websites. I made some Paleo muffins with almond flour.  I tasted one and froze the rest because those nut based recipes are super high calorie with not much protein value.  It was one of these DUH moments of why the heck did I bake thm.

Hi Trish,

I haven't tried their paleo bread yet but I've eaten their carb zero. I'm not very impressed, tastes like a stiff sponge. I've considered taking a drive down to their bakery in San Diego to buy fresh loaves as opposed to frozen ones (about 1 1/2 hrs away). Lee is right about the slices sticking together when frozen but I didn't have any issues with it falling apart.

The only way I could make it halfway tasty was to toast it really well, almost burnt and spread with butter. Also, it's very dense and will definitely fill up a sleeve on it's own. I tried to eat a slice with an egg one day and I could only finish half of the toast.

I'll let you know if/when I ever wind up at their bakery...
