I did a naughty thing today

Ok, it wasn't that bad. I did raku firing and was hot, sooty and cranky and said "I wish I had a beer". A nice person brought me one. Horrors!  Carbonation is on the no-no list and I have not had any since well before surgery. ButI decided to have a few swallows. Well, I now get the rule about carbonation. Nothing bad happened but the stuff sure had potential for making me very uncomfortable.

The real news is that beer tasted TERRIBLE to me. Bitter and yucky. And it was good quality brew.  So now I know its one more thing that I don't need and won't miss one bit. Diane

I found that one out. Some things just don't taste the same, and many times that is a very, very good thing. I found out that I cannot tolerate Champagne for the same reason. The bubbles are very uncomfortable.

Really??  It tasted bad???  One year ago tomorrow, on our anniversary, my husband and I went out to dinner to a gluten free restaurant.  I did not know that a gluten free beer came with our meal, it was their special for the night.  I could only drink a little less than half of it, and found it soooooo delicious and refreshing....but, got tipsy super fast.  I think maybe the reason it tasted so good was because I had not had a beer in ages and didn't know it was even possible.  I did not know they even made GF beer!!!  I have not had another one since my anniversary, but, tomorrow is our anniversary again, and I might have to a half of one again, or maybe a small glass of wine.....we shall see.

I think that between you and me Diane, the local wine economy is doing just fine.  :)
