Nexium
I am one and a half years out and I still take nexium 40 mg a day. I asked my doctor to write the script for 20 mg a day to see how that goes. I haven't tried it yet. I have tried not taking it but then have acid reflex.
Are you worried about bone density? I am. ARe you taking calcium suppliments? I do when I remember to in the evening. What do you think? Are we able to absorb calcium if we take it separate from the nexium. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I was on a double dose of Protonix (morning and evening). My endocrinologist said that it was absolutely hurting my ability to absorb calcium in any form. When I slipped from osteopenia to osteoporosis last year, I was motivated to see of there were anything I could do. I have since had surgery to repair my hiatal hernia and am only occasionally experiencing any acid. It's a rock and a hard place for us because long term acid has its own risks, including Barrett's Esophagus. My endo is thrilled that I'm off PPIs on a regular basis and feels that I will see an improvement in bone density because of it.
