Shrinking Nerd is doing fine

Some of you know my hubby Shrinking Nerd needed a hiatal hernia repair and Dr. C fixed it monday. We are now home safe and sound and the "nerd" is doing fine. Dr. also tightened up the upper part of his sleeve that had enlarged some. Surgery was late in the day  (like 7 pm) and I didn't leave the hospital until almost midnight. It was a long day but Dr. thinks it will be a good outcome. Hubby now has 5 more laproscopic incision marks so his belly looks like a constellation.

Dr. said it was a pretty big one and definitely needed to be fixed. Quite a bit of esophogus and some of stomach was up above where it was supposed to be. Dr. gave us pictures.

So hubby is back to full liquids for a week and then mushies. He is 30 pounds from goal and I am sure will lose more with this.

He had quite a bit of reflux and vomiting at odd times. Also his voice was hoarse and he was a great singer and unable to do that. So we are really hoping this will fix those issues. I think his voice sounds better already.

Anyway, all is well in this 2 sleeve household. weigh in tomorrow will be intersint for both of us.  Diane

Glad to hear that all went well with his surgery. Hopefully this will resolve the vomiting and reflux concerns.

Here's wishing him a speedy recovery and hope to hear that he's back to singing before long!
