Increase portion size?

Hey there!   I am about 15 months post-op and in maintenance.

I now find that I am getting hungry more than in the past.

I still weigh my protein and eat 2.75-3.25 ounces dense protein at a meal.    But, I find I am hungry soon after and wanting to snack.

I have tried taking a PPI, and it seemed to help a few days, but no longer.

I am still very mindful of eating good protein first and have added some veggies to the mix also.  Often I will eat Greek yogurt when I am hungry.   I have only had a time or two where I really ate "bad".   Once was yesterday when I baked 2 cakes and I did sample them.   Luckily, I baked them to take to someone's home and they are GONE!

My question is, should I increase my dense protein to say 4 ounces to see if that helps?   Or, keep on with the yogurt when I feel the hungries.

I don't eat other carbs like bread, potatoes or rice at all.

Rather than increasing your portion size, why don't you try a more dense protein snack? Yogurt isnt going to fill you up or keep you full (even though it's a good snack option) - maybe some roasted edamame (good fiber/protein - very satisfying), or even some meat for a snack.

That is a good idea! How do you like to roast your
edamame?

I never thought to roast my own edamame lol. I buy packages of it from the sports store.

This seems to be a normal progression for many of us.  What helps me is to continue eating three ounces of dense protein at every meal, however, my snacks are now all about fibrous veggies.  I like to make and keep at least three different salads in my refrigerator.  I make things like my radish salad with thinly sliced radishes, green onions and lite sour cream, or cucumber salad with thinly sliced cucumbers, red onions and rice vinegar and sesame seeds.  I have many other varieties of these salads.  What they all have in common is that they are made with fibrous veggies, as in I don't peel the cucumbers.  I have these salads as my snacks and I don't limit the amount of times I reach for them.  If I am hungry, I eat them.  They have very little calories and keep me quite full.  Between the dense protein and the veggies, I am good to go.  I hope this helps.

Elina, that is a great idea!    I know I need to incorporate more veggies and this is a good way.

For some reason, I have been afraid of salad and not yet tried it.

I have an abundance of okra from the garden right now, and I can eat some of that.    And, I'll make up some salads like you suggested, too.

You know, sometimes the answer is right there, but so hard to get to!

I am glad I could be helpful.  This really should take care of the issue.  In winter, when you are cold, vegetable based soups work just as well.  You can eat with the seasons, it is a healthy and delicious way to eat.
