Eating as the main event!
I'm finding myself getting so frustrated lately with everything being so food centered. Can't anyone go out or do anything where eating isn't the main focus. And why does everyone concern themselves so much with what I eat, when, how much etc. I have even been not included in group things because "she doesn't eat" or drink ( alcohol). I do eat, meat, veggies, steak, lots of things, and I occasionally do drink alcohol, just not a lot. Why is it such an issue with people, seriously, I'm just trying to be healthy. Now that I finally look a lot better, I want to go out more, just not eat out ALL THE TIME. Anyone else have this problem? How do you deal? Thanks all, I knew you guys would get it!
You need different friends. Not everyone is like this. My friends like to go out with me because they get to eat off my plate. And they don't care if I don't drink that much either as long as I don't turn down my nose at them when they do (which I don't and I'm sure you don't either.)
It probably helps that they didnt' know me before though. So nothing has changed for them when it comes to their interaction with me. Some people have a hard time with change and this is how they deal with it -- to pick at you as if it's all your fault they are uncomfortable.
So... in summary... find some people who aren't like this to hang out with. Maybe your old friends will recover their brains and stop being obsessed with your eating and you can hang out with them again and maybe they won't but in the meantime, you can have some fun!

I never told anyone at work about my surgery, so on business trips or the rare occasions when we eat out, no one cares or notices what I eat. However, among friends and family, who all know about my surgery, ALSO no one cares or pays attention to what I eat or drink, largely because I haven't made an issue of it. I just order something that works for me and enjoy the company. A while back a group of 8-10 people decided they wanted to go to one of the more famous pizza places around here. I happily went, and ate the tops off 3-4 slices of pizza without eating the crust. No one cared. (I did the same thing at a recent business event where pizza was ordered for a group of about 80 people.)
My recommendation would be to stop talking about what you can or can't eat/drink, if you're do that now - people will follow your lead.
