Please tell me to throw out my underwear!!!
You don't have to throw them out. Just STOP WEARING THEM!
Ill-fiting underwear makes our clothes fit less well too. You think no one can tell because they can't see them but put on well-fitting underwear and your pants and dresses will look 100% better on you!

I got tired of pulling those big undies out of my crack. If it could have been entered into Myfitnesspal as exercise, I would have continued.
I travel a lot. Bikini undies are heck of smaller than big panties! I love that I can do two weeks in Europe with a carry-on post op! Life is good.

Thanks everyone, all your answers together helped me devise a plan of action. I'm going to start with the oldest ones and throw them out, then a wait a week to see if I have the courage to throw any more of them away. If I throw a few away, and it goes well, then I'm thinking I'll be able to throw the rest away.
Lee, I asked my husband what he thought about the situation and he said, and I quote "I would like to put those old undies through a paper shredder and shred them, I hate them."
Wow, I had no idea my husband hated them. It didn't say a word about it, till I asked!!!!
And yes, I have to big of a drawer designated for undies!!! LOL
Anne-I googled the Hanky Panky panties, and they are sooo cute!!!! Way cuter than my old over-sized underwear!!!!!
Elina- I see what you mean about feeling better in the new panties. I feel so much better in them. It's like going from baggy old sweat pants, to a pair a great fitting jeans. I had not realized it though, until you pointed it out. Thanks!
Diane-I'm also running out of room and it's getting frustrating to find the new ones in the sea of old ones. I'm going to downsize.......and then see how it goes. I have a couple of coats that I have not been able to part with as well. I wore one this winter and ALL MY FRIENDS kept pointing it out to me. I didn't realize it was THAT obvious! Just the other day I bravely threw out my bras. I've had a breast reduction 4 months ago and there is no way those babies will ever fit again!
Kathy-I'm going to take it slow, you are right that they are a source of comfort...I'm going to throw some out tonight though and see how I feel. I'm in shock that this is such an issue. It reminds me of the show "hoarder's" and helps me understand a little bit about how they feel about their stuff.
Foxbins- I LOVE your layering idea!!!!!! If throwing several out at a time is to much, I'll throw one out at a time, very good idea. As I typed that, I actually felt pain. I pictured throwing one pair out...and felt pain.....OH MY! This is going to be hard.
Pure Avida- I don't have the guts for thongs....LOL....however, I have seen how my big panties are very unflattering!
Carol- You too? We're so funny!!!! I'm glad I am not the only one.....
Leah-I like your idea of throwing them out as I buy new ones. I'll have to work on being that strong.
Mac-OK....I'll stop wearing them....they're horrible!!
Lee-HA HA HA HA HA....yes, I believe it's time to submitt an exercise into MFP!! You are right about the carry on bag. I can't believe how much less space my clothes take up!!!!!!! iT'S AN AWESOME NSV!!!!

It's funny my hubby and I were discussing this earlier today. I threw away almost all my old granny panties. However I did buy some in a size 7 brief style which he hates. I am slowly buying new pairs even some thongs which I bought at Kohl's on the clearance rack for next to nothing (0.80-2.40/pair). I put on a new pair of boyshorts today. Hubby said are those new? I replied yes. He said I like those, any by the way no man likes to see his woman in their grandma panties.

Boy shorts are great because they keep the panus in check!
