I am so discouraged ....
Earlier in the week, when my weight shot up a bunch of pounds from sleeping sitting up and my feet and legs filling up with fluid, I felt sure it would take no time at all to get the water weight right back off again. Well, my ankles are still a little puffy, but nothing like at first.
The scale, however, is another story. I believe I was 154 or 156 then, and all of a sudden was 164. Now the scale still says 162. I've been working like mad to get weight off before I see the surgical nurse this Monday, and I was 162 when I saw her two months ago. That's when she told me to get off as much weight as I could. I do NOT want to go in there Monday weighing the same thing I did at the beginning!
I've cut out 98% of the fast food and junk food and simple carbs, upped my veggies, cut out a lot of the processed food, and just in general have been eating WAY healthier. (It helps that I can no longer do my own grocery shopping, and a neighbor brings them to me. I am not about to ask her to bring me junk food!)
So that's my tale of woe. I'm just laying this on you guys, because I have no one to talk with about this. Thanks so much for being here and being so supportive.

AAAWWW, so sorry Dorothy
Can you call the doc's office and tell them you have edema and see if you can do water pulls just today to take the water off? Maybe they will even want you to, especially if you have edema around your organs, and especially your heart. Please ask them. I hope you can get this resolved. I'll be praying for you.

(((((((Dorothy))))))) no wonder you are discouraged - but sounds like you are doing the right things.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Hey Multiple :-)
I'm having a fourth revision to the spinal fusion I had almost three years ago now. It has never done any good after the second one. The first one was fine until a screw came loose. It has been one complication after the other since then. I'm at a point now where I have been out of work for four months, am in terrible nerve pain all down into my hips and legs, can't walk except with a walker and even then can barely move around the house, can barely take care of myself, can't lie down so have been sleeping in the recliner half sitting up for four months, etc etc. It is terrible, and I'm so doped up on narcotics that I feel awful most of the time, but the pain is still horrible. But in May I got in with a highly recommended orthopedic surgeon at Emory, and she agreed to take me on. My surgery is July 10, and I can hardly wait ... although I am scared spitless, too. I'd appreciate any and all prayers!
