It's been 6 months since I was forced (or at least strongly recommended) into 'Maintenance' by my surgeon, endocrinologist, gyno, etc.  I've settled in eating around 1500-1800 calories a day although I was targeting 1800 a day.  Lately, I  feel like I may actually be gaining weight. I'm about 4lbs heavier than my 'lowest' which was 127. I know I've gained some muscle and I retain a lot of fluid in my legs. Having said that, I felt like my dog show clothes were tighter this last weekend than a month previously, my face looks fuller in the mirror, and my eyes are protruding more.  My waist may or may not be 1/2 bigger via measuring tape.

I haven't had metabolic testing done since they dropped my thyroid meds and subsquently raised them, two times.    My RMR _was_ 1800 calories a day; however, that may well have been altered by my dosage changes particulary since my fT3 levels are have been chronically low for 6 months.

Perhaps it's my head playing games with me or bloat and PMS, but I have decided to try and take off 10lbs from where I am now. I still carry fat on my thighs disproportionate to the rest of my body, and that irks me.   I never felt 'done' or really at goal with my weightloss despite finally changing my ticker not long ago.  I would have preferred to stay in the 600-800 range until I hit my personal goal of 122, but I know I can't go that low  for health reason. I'm going to drop down to 1250 calories a day and see if I can slowly take it off.   I'll probably drop my carbs back a bit. I stay in the 80-100g a day range, now.

Anyway, I'm going to start a new ticker later after I get back from the gym.  Still love my sleeve even if my autoimmune issues fight it tooth an toenail.   Thanks for listening, and wish me luck, lol.

Good Luck!  I know you can do this.  You're a ROCK!  We are here for you if you need to vent.  You should reach YOUR goal, not anybody elses.  By golly, it's YOUR body!

Krazy--I have always been jealous of the amt of carbs and calories you can eat. I am at 18 months and I don't think I have cheated once, except for a couple of tablespoons of Peanut Butter in the evening several times. I have kept my carbs around 20 the whole time. I am not trying to martyr myself on the carb issue, but just want you to know if I had to lose some more, like you want to do, I would not have much leeway to go lower. I am still on pretty severe restriction and my personal goal is about 2 lbs under where I am. Maybe I will have to follow this diet plan the rest of my life to stay thin. Just not sure yet. I am happy for you that you have alot of wiggle room to make some changes, even in spite of your autoimmune issues. Good luck and I bet you can get down to where you want to, with the way you work so hard at everything. I will be most interested in your progress from here on out. I really think any of us can get to the weight we truly want to be--it is just sheer determination and stubborness. PS--Did you get back on your diuretics?

Thanks, Bunnymom.  Yes, I went back on HCTZ, and I've lost 3 of the 4 1/2lbs of water I gained.  I have to wonder if some of this isn't in my head as my husband thinks I'm nuts about the possibility of actually gaining weight, and threatened to start calling me 'Skeletor."  I just can't stand the saddlebags that are attached to each of my thighs.

You've done so well!  Once you hit your goal and start adding things back into your diet, I bet you get to a reasonable level that doesn't require you to be so restrictive.  I find that different carbs effect me differently. I can and do eat a banana every day, now.  I find them filling, satisfying, and I don't get an 'off to the races' feeling as from a starch which I avoid, pretty much  at all costs. A banana has 27g carb of which 3g are fiber -- almost as much as a serving of benefiber -- plus vitamins, potassium, etc. for 105 calories.

You know, I find that really helpful--that some carbs are different than others.  That is very encouraging and I think I will be adding some bites of banana and papaya and lime juice soon here in the future.  Good work getting those water pounds off.  Nothing is worse than swimming around all day in your own personal water body suit!  Thanx for the banana tip.  I love bananas.

I say go for and wishing you luck, but I don't think you need it!
