Does your body just settle at one weight
My body is happy between 141-143. When I graduated high school I weighed in at 176. I left hone and my body naturally went to 143(that was in 1968) where it stayed until I started gaining again after pregnancy in 1974.
Now post Sleeve I have to fight to be under 143. This just appears to be my happy place.
I started hill walking up in the Redwoods two months ago. That greatly added challenge to my workouts. Also doing weights for arms now. This week I've already hiked 32 miles and will walk hours in SF this afternoon. Not sure how to add more challenge before sending me back to the couch. For me the fitness aspect needs to make me happy or I will give it up. I'm exercising two hours 6-7 days a week.
Maybe I have to accept that as long as I am a normal BMI and wearing size 6 jeans, I should be happy and not make myself nuts?

Val,
Have you had your body tested for fat/muscle content? Are you large framed?
I remember BrandyW being on here and encouraging people to accept that you may end up being a bit heavier than you "want" to be. What size are you?
Coming from being over 300 pounds and MO, you have done an incredible job. You just may be a solid person and just not have room to go much lower? Would you be ok with that? Is the goal number more important than all the weight you have lost?

I am large frame. It all depends on the jeans I am an 8 to 10 most of the time. Some times designer jeans are a 12. I can not see my self thin so the number is big to me now. When I was 300 I though to be 180 would be great. I am just scared of gaining the weight back so I think the lower I am from 300 would be great.
My family friends tell me to accept my weight just do not gain out of control. I am happy most of the days that I am 165 to 170 depends on the day. But some times I have bad days when I think I am so big again. I am over weight now so the scale tells me. I am 5' 5 but large frame. Thanks for all the advise.

I agree with them!
I think society has trained us females to never be happy with our bodies. We must fight this! And also we must fight getting our worth from a number on the scale. We are more than a number.
It's one thing if your eating is out of control and you are gaining, gaining, gaining. Obviously, that's a problem that has to be dealt with. It's also one thing if we know we're being less than we can be -- like refusing to exercise or eating crappy foods more than 20% of the time. But it's another when we're eating well most of the time and exercising a reasonable amount and our weight just happens to be a few pounds over some arbitrary number.
There is no logical reason to beat ourselves up if we're living life to the fullest and doing what we need to do, but the number on the scale isn't what we we think it should be. This is especially true if we are what most people consider thin or a normal weight.
