VSG on 05/31/11 with
134 this morning... down a pound. I'm not going to freak out though, my body and I will figure this out!

I swam, tread water and jumped on our trampoline yesterday so I at least got in some cardio! Probably not today since I'll be at work all day and my lazy butt didn't get out of bed in time to go run this morning. Maybe when I get home?

139.8 today, but the icky sickness is starting to leave thanks to the steroids.

I do wish though that my sense of smell would return again.. kinda freaked that the virus wiped that out (it can happen.) Actually very freaked. My sinuses feel clear- just can't smell, which you don't realize just how big a deal it is until it's gone. *sigh* trying to stay positive, but I'm worried.

That is pretty trying. How long has your sense of smell been gone? Have you mentioned it to the doc?

Better. Soon.

I had it Friday when I got on antibiotics, lost it Sat.. Went in Tues for the steroids as I wasn't feeling better.. and he confirmed what I have scared myself silly reading on the internet- sometimes a bad virus can wipe out the small area of nerves that let you smell and taste.. rare, but it can happen. Not a whole lot they can do for it- there's a clinic in DC that has some success treating it with various meds.. but he took a look up there, said things looked irritated, but open and gave me a referral to an ENT for when I get back from vacation. It's just a hard mind-trip to not smell/taste anything. Not exactly a pretty picture if it is a long-term thing, but I'm hoping it's temporary and it will come back on it's own. I miss smelling my husband.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the post- just having a hard time with this situation.. the fatigue is making me extra weepy too.. I hate, hate being sick.

I'm not sure you can hijack this thread. It often side-tracks into discussions on issues folks raise in their posts or just general stuff. Seems to be one of the positive reasons for its existence.

So sorry you're dealing with this. Saying prayers and swinging chickens that it's temporary.
