I had a dream . . .

Last night I dreamed I was waiting for some sort of job interview with a group of other applicants. In the dream I was slim and younger and all dressed up. Most importantly, I felt very confident and poised and had to get up and speak about something in the interview and aced it and got the job. I remember looking around at some of the other applicants and feeling like I really had the edge.

I woke up feeling happy and amused. Interviews and such used to terrify me and I was never good at them and was shy  and part was I felt so crummy about being fat - like I had to make up for it by being smarter, better, harder working, funnier or whatever.

I am retired from the "real"  business world and now have fun being an artist, but it sure was a great feeling to feel like this in a dream because I never did so in my previous fat reality.  Who'd a thunk even dreaming would be better when slim.??!!

No thanks Frisco. I haven't had any "fat" dreams that I recall but would hate that. Usually I have very absurd dreams - like once I dreamed that San Fransisco was being invaded by a huge flotilla of black and white cows and I was hiding behind a building watching and laughing. Analyze that one, Eric!     diane

One of the required sociology classes for my undergrad had sections about dreams. I find it interesting how our hopes and fears manifest themselves. You guys have demonstrated two of probably the most common for a wls patient. Dream of being skinny and feeling good then a dream about gaining it all back and failing. I have yet to get either but it is probably because my mind state is in a place where I do not feel done yet for some reason even though I know I am. That though Diane is a wonderful dream. Feel proud that you and your mind both agree that you are done and in a good place.  I am proud of where you have gotten from within. I think the fact you are having skinny dreams proves it Odd, now that I think about it. I don't remember a single dream I was in since surgery. I wonder if I will look as I do now or did then. *Freud Voice* very interesting.

Interesting and wonderful!  It's great to wake up happy isn't it?  What a nice morning you must have had.  Glad you now think of yourself as healthy, confident and YOUNG!  Love it!

Apparently, I've never had any unconcious hopes, fears or wishes because I NEVER remember my dreams.  I mean, never!  It's wierd cuz DH wakes up tells me all about his but as soon as I wake up, I'm immediately alert and they are just gone. At least that means I don't remember the nightmares either...sorry about that one Frisco!  That would terrify me.

That's a pretty cool dream to have! I used to occasionally dream that I was slim when I was heavy.. I have had those spooky dreams that I am eating out of control since surgery! I wake in a panic for a moment till I realize it's just a dream.. Odd. If I recall, french fries were central on the last one!
